Did anybody notice the continuity error with Magneto's helmet? In the first X-Men movie Magneto said he developed the helmet to protect his mind from telepaths (at least that is what I recall) - but in the movie, we clearly see he gets it from Shaw.

As far as I can tell there is no official lore on how he got his helmet in the comics. I looked for the origin through a Google search but couldn't find anything solid.

Perhaps it was "further developed".

I think I found the answer.
I did not know that this movie was considered a "reboot".
I was checking out the goofs section at imdb and it said that there were some three goofs that aren't actually goofs because of the reboot of the series (didn't see anything about the helmet, but since it's a reboot, it doesn't matter anymore ^^).
