Completely redeems the franchise after the last two abominations.

Everyone go check it out. The acting and story are excellent. I get the feeling Michael Fassbender is gonna get quite a few roles as a result of this one, he is fantastic as Magneto. He also gets his second amazing, incredibly tense scene in a bar (the first was Inglourious Basterds).

i did love fasbender, and ofc mcavoy's always good. would have liked to see a bit more showcasing of their friendship before it was damaged

i highly enjoyed the film

my only minor turn-off was how much they crammed in as far as nods/references/setups (the hugh jackman scene made me roll my eyes) which i guess is inevitable with a prequel kinda

but yeah the story moves nicely and acting all around is top-notch

i've always liked the sebastian shaw/hellfire club stuff of the x-verse

although emma frost was played a little differently than i'd envisioned

Emma wasn't bitchy enough.

Also her effect was really awful.

But that was my only complaint about the whole thing really. The characters were all really well done otherwise.

The whole Raven/Mystique robe thing bothered me. How can she change the appearance of the robe to look like clothes? For a while I thought she was just making the robe appear, but then there is a scene when she's 'naked' and then puts her robe on.

Overall though I enjoyed the movie, just found a few nit-picky things that bugged me but not enough to ruin the movie for me.

Finally saw it on Saturday and enjoyed it. It wasn't garbage like the second movie and much better than the Wolverine movie so I'm happy at least.

X2 was pretty fantastic.

How did Mystique know that Shaw was wearing a helmet (and what it looked like) when she imitated him? He was still sealed in the sub.

Actually I've since remembered that Shaw did go and attack the CIA facility where the younglings were, and he had his helmet then - he took it off when he found out "the telepath" wasn't there. However I don't remember if Emma told him that when they first got there (before the X-kids saw anyone, save maybe for the "it's raining men" victims), or later after walking up to the kids (in which case Raven would have seen el Helmeto).

However even if she saw the helmet there's still the chance that his outfit was different on the different days, which means she better have chosen his prior day outfit! But there is hope that this isn't a plot hole / shape-shifter-continuity error.

maybe she didn't know he was wearing a helmet, but just thought he seemed like the kind of guy who would and guessed correctly on the design

Ummm...does she HAVE to see someone in order to imitate them? Or can she jsut decided to look like them and her..uh...mutation...fills in the correct appearance? Therefore she does have some sort of underlying telephathic ability that would let her know what someone looks like (or what they're wearing) without her looking at them first. Logical right?

Very welld one. Saw it tonight. Love it. Acting was fabulous. Storyline was great. Paced very well and told a full "story" not just an introduction.

Tommy Lee Jones was so awesome in this.

Also Stanley Tucci. Especially the scene with the schnapps.

Chris Evans gonna be a star. On his way to being Lucas Lee!
