While there are hundreds of achievements, it's never enough. There's always something in game that makes a person say "That would make an awesome achievement!" or "Huh, I wonder why that doesn't have an achievement attached to it?" Some are certainly legitimate achievement desires while others are just silly. Regardless of what category you think it falls under, what achievements would you like to see added to the game?
The Top Ten is a contest run by WoW Vault with content chosen for the list from among the replies! Whichever reply gets chosen as #1 will receive 2 weeks if IGN Insider VIP!

There are achievements for emotes in LOTRO, and they give titles.
Things like after 100 /hug you get the title "The Beloved".
Of course, you can only get so many increases per day.
But I'm afraid the mindset in WoW is different than in LOTRO, and such things would only create awful spam in all public areas.

I think you should get an achivement for gathering so many of the top item
ACHIEVEMENT: MINER 49er - Mine 1000(or 5000) Pyrite Ore
ACHIEVEMENT: Skin Trade - Skin 1000 Pristine Hides
There could be more but I forget all the uber things for other crafts.

@ Ferrdust, yeah I think this should be an achieve too. I was killed this ways well and trust me it is NOT easy. I think it should be killed by a critter (Must be level 80 or higher). Do you realize how hard it is to get that low and be killed by a critter it is not easy.
instead of Critter Killer (the guild achievement) they should reverse it and make it Killer Critter.

that critter one is a great idea. to be honest i think getting an achievement for dying is weird...but if they give you one for dying to deathwing than dying to a critter should be one too!
gathering one is a good idea too i figured there was already one like that in game (i dont gather).

I think a great achievement would be:
Achievement "Wait, I wasn't finished."
Clear the room of adds and engage Lady Deathwhisper In Icecrown Citadel before she finished talking.
An achievement named "Someday this will all be yours" become King of Dire Maul.
Complete Dire Maul North without killing any bosses but the King. I know it would be easy to do now with so many 85s but how many people even know king of Dire Maul runs are even possible?

How about some sort of achievement for winning a 1v1 against someone with insanely better gear?
No duels, BG's or Arenas..world PVP only..

Agreed. The system should track the achievements of the player (and be noted account wide) rather than individual toons. The current system penalizes people for switching mains.

I'd go with this...
...even though I think achievements in WoW, and in gaming in general, are one of the lamest and dumbest things ever added - from a player's point of view.
As a coder and student of the MMORPG genre, I think achivements are beautiful. Getting paying players to waste enormous amounts of time doing activities that yield no tangible reward has to be one of the all time great feats of timesink. Somewhere the bliz dev who thought this up is still laughing.

This wasn't a Blizz idea. IIRC, the whole achievement system came from a console system, I don't remember which one.

If your character was created within the first 90 days of release .. you should not only get the achievement "Old Timer" but the title as well.

the main reason i don't care about achievements is that its pointless if you play more than 1 character. account wide achievements would make sense...but i guess they want you to spend time doing the same stuff on multiple characters afterall
