I am linking mmo-champion because i like it better than the official site deal with it
I really just can't get excited for this and this is what i was hoping would get this game out of its slump. I'm sure alot of us were holding out for a decent raid tier but this is shaping up to be exactly the same thing as TOC and that is exactly when i quit the first time around in WOTLK is when TOC came out it was the worst raid tier
Seriously i'm tired of Daily Quest grinds really wish they could come up with something different

I bet this is going to be WAAAAAAY more of a grind than the old Silithius quests were back in vanilla (which was blizzard's first pathetic attempt to give "solo content to non-raiders").
Anyone who was around at the time will remember how pathetic that was.
Now if it really IS like argent tournament, AND there are FULL sets of gear to be obtained, THEN I will concede that blizzard has finally, after all this time, actually delivered.
But we know they are not capable of such

This really is looking more like a ToC or a Sunwell, both of which were filler raids iirc.
Sunwell - 6 bosses and a daily hub
ToC - 5 bosses and a daily hub
Firelands - 7 bosses and a daily hub
So far this expansion has been pretty light on content. Looks like that's not going to change anytime soon.

New raid = good.
Pace of additional content = sad.
I have zero desire to any dailies ever again the rest of my MMORPG life. WOTLK and cata ez-mode alt speed leveling push it on you way too fast. In general the concept of doing rep grinds to exhalted to buy one epic is pitiful, as with the core WOTLK or cata reps.
I could care less about more dailies for soloists. Never did Argent Tournament. Games that are massively multiplayer should focus on group-oriented content and people who want to mostly solo should play another genre.
They wouldn't need solo filler content to keep people who normally group for stuff busy if there was more to do grouped and you didn't burn out fast on what little there is.
ZG/ZA are good even if it's revamped old content. Problem is they can take a while. I can do them but instances that take while, especially for the less uber amazing players, can't be done by a lot of players who can't commit 2-3 hours to an instance (yes, I know, it doesn't take that long for some...keyword being "some").

I'm reserving judgement. I watched the 15 min video, and from the way the quest guy told it, you're not doing the same 8 quests over and over. It sounded like there is a progressive storyline and different quests. He made the point there is a progressive story arc for each person, yet people can somehow group for some of the questing, too--so I'm not sure how that will work.

So, you require a group in order to function..
that's fine,(laughable, but fine) but don't knock people who are more independent, and do not require a 4 player crutch to get things accomplished, or have fun.
If you really only like group play, and nothing else, you need to be playing DDO. You would love it.

imo!
You won't be doing the same 8 dailies? Don't they already have it set up like that nowadays, where they just randomly rotate which ones you get? Or is it so quests unlock as the days go by to artificially progress a story? 
I'm surprised they still haven't added solo dungeons to the game yet. (maybe with the sheer subscriber amount that's too much money on server?)

Perhaps, but let me ask you, do you believe there are more group-dedicated players among the masses with solid blocks of time to put aside or more of the "alone together" soloists with more sporadic playtimes? Thinking solely in terms of money, which group do you think would be best to target in order to make the most cash (ie. gain/keep the most subscriptions)?

Maybe he wasn't referring to skill level when he wanted to group with people? Maybe it was the social aspect of playing in a group. From your response to the guy that posted about grouping, I can kind of see how you don't understand how social interaction with a group of people could be considered fun.

Only on VN, and only by the VN board trolls, would someone be mocked for actually wanting to group with and interact with other players in an MMORPG. It's fine, sad in a pathetic kind of way, but fine if you are unable to get along/play well with others but don't knock those who have better developed social skills and find it enjoyable to work as a team. Especially in a MMOrpg.

I agree with you, the thing before that made group xp so much better was the lack of (or much more limited) downtime. With solo players having often 0 or only a few seconds downtime, it's hard to make groups worth it.
The other part of that is that questing doesn't lend itself to grouping *as much* as dungeons or camping a spot, since it's hard to get everyone doing the same quests.
But personally I refused to wait 30 minutes while calling for a group in the 'good old days' and no intention of starting that now. ;p
So I think grouping should have benefits, I agree, just not sure how a game does it with making it really better than soloing.

Thanks for the link. Been keeping an eye out here, with a thought to coming back at some point.
Ran this past guildmates. Bottom line reaction from most of them was: "I'm glad we left when we did." The additional comments were: "it's an MMO, why are they compartmentalizing the world for us?"
I'm ... saddened. Which surprises me.
I realize since the start that this game was gear-centric. Looking at that description, I just don't want to play World of Wallmart anymore.
I want good gameplay. As it's OWN reward.
Guess I'm asking too much these days. Solo or group. I play both.

Or just keep the thread going and see how many times you boys repeat yourselves and recycle the same lines. That's always a fun game to play. I'm taking bets with myself to see how many more times you boys fall back on the "Korrigans alt" line. Must be tough to come up with new and original material after a while.
By the way, my sig line is still accurate. This board is not a community I want to be part of. Therefore, I choose to not be a part. I come here about once every 2 or 3 months, get a few laughs from the same eggheads that have been here, spouting the same drivel for years, and then continue on my merry way. The official boards beat the VN boards hands down when it comes to community and actually discussing the game. Sure, there are a few eggheads on the official boards, but there are more good eggs then bad eggs there. Here, it's 99% eggheads who do nothing but try to put others down to make themselves feel better and about 1% actually discussing the game.
