Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to the recently released World of Warcraft: Cataclysm patch 4.1: Rise of the Zandalari. Hotfixes are updates we make on our end without requiring you to download a new patch. Some of the hotfixes below will go live the moment they are implemented, while others may require your realm to be restarted to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch update. We will continue to update this thread in the days ahead as additional hotfixes are applied. Visit our Bug Report forum for a list of 4.1 known issues.

Bought the new BOE tanking bracers yesterday with the AH mule, then wasn't able to mail it to my DK, because the stupid game considered it a 'temporary item'.

Guildie was nearby fortunately to transfer via trade.

Go go gadget expansion.

Why would you buy BoE tank bracers? I'm gonna guess you spent a few thousand gold on them. There are higher level rep ones you can get easily for a very cheap price.

I'm beyond sick of rep grinds after wotlk (10 of 10 toons) and cata (8 of 10 toons did everything they could do for gains). I have lots of gold still, even after lots of reckless spending in cata. So, if I could buy a boe instead of spending hours/days/weeks grinding a rep for ONE item. I'd probably skip the rep and buy the item.

I'd rather log off and play another game than grind another rep. Period. Unfortunately that other game (Rift) has the exact same style of rep grinds.

The whole grind a rep to exhalted for the opportunity to maybe buy one useful epic and get an achieve kinda sucks.

Meh it's just gold. The 2.5K I paid for those bracers, I will make back in a few hours on glyphs, crafted pvp armor and belt buckles. I am not going to grind f'n Rahmaken again to bootsrap my DK's starting tank gear.

I have not tried the 2 new instances yet, been too busy and lack the motivation to do much WoWtime but in case people were curious (alot of people wanted to know in randoms what kind of items Satchels contained) I thought I would report on the satchels I have received from a few quick randoms before bed.

1) 99 gold and change and a JC ruby (on a DK who only has gathering professions)
2) 48 gold and change and 3 Cata health potions (on druid who was healing at the time)
3) 36 gold and change and nothing
4) 42 gold and change and nothing
5) 48 gold and change and 3 Cata mana potions (on a warrior)

Why is the gold reward a semi-variable? Dunno. Are the random chance items completely random? Sure appears so.

Conclusion: Who this is supposed to motivate to queue for needed roles on randoms that would not be doing so already I have no idea.

Mostly, the fence-sitters. The majority will be unaffected as they're either loving it already and already queue regularly or hate it and would refuse to queue outside of guild/friends groups even it were several hundred gold per.

[edit] Makes you wonder why they even spent the dev resources to implement such a non-feature.

I tried to do a random 'old heroic' PUG daily for that new "call to arms" thing today on my totally over-geared tank. I ended in a team of retards, the healer totally sucking and people not able to survive the "chains" part of the first boss in Blackrock Caverns. After 3 wipes, I left the group since during each try, 3 out of 5 people died on the first "chain" phase.

The main reason tanks don't queue outside of guild groups is not only due to the lack of tanks.

Oh yes, definitely. Because tanks are expected to stay and endure the stupidity of a group where the healer can't heal for shit and where people still don't know what to do even after having it explained to them 3 times.

What a fool I am, I thought games were made to have fun, and not to babysit idiots with an attention span of a 5 year old. My bad.

Well, with the way you're getting all emotional here I can't imagine you were exactly patient with them.

But I'm sure you're right, the other 4 people in the group are in the wrong.

Korrigan is within his rights to not want to bother with the dreck that makes up the average, casual pug player in WoW.

However, IMO, he's going about it with all the wrong attitude. I loved playing PUGs because it allows you to get in a full game session of "Just How Bad Can They Get?" I tended to do it as a healer, though, which allows for full observation of just what everyone out there is doing.

Once you embrace that attitude and get right into the game, it all becomes worthwhile. Being about to tell the guild about the warlock pushing 800 dps (pre-cata) in heroics, dropping that casual comment of "why exactly is it taking us three minutes to clear up a single trash pull?", the gleeful posting of a meter showing one dps doing 60% of the damage... there's where true pugging fun lies.

Oh, BK, but I've stayed in groups where my character as the tank was topping the DPS meters by far. I've stayed in groups where the setup was less than optimal, and a guy or two couldn't simply understand that they must pay attention and not stand in fire.

The problem with that group I talk about in my previous post is that it was everything bad all in one group. The dps was low, the healer was bad, and nobody except me seemed to understand what to do, even after several explanations (guys, you must destroy those chains as fast as possible...). Come on, the first BRC encounter isn't that hard... thing is, I can't even imagine what it would have been at the boss with the beams, if they can't understand the very simple first boss!

Yeah, there's groups with some bad elements, and I can deal with those, the good elements compensating for the one or even two bad ones. I will also stay if we wipe but it's getting better every try, everybody has to learn someday. But when the whole group is a mess, and nobody seems to listen since no progression is made at all... well, I have better things to do with my time. And I'd dare to say that the one pretending he never left such a hopeless group is not telling the truth.
