 Well many players have now reached the 100 Mount Achievement. There is no follow up Achievement as of yet. Cataclysm has come out with numerous new mounts. So when?s the next achievement? Should there be one? What sort of reward should it provide?
The Topic of the Week is a contest run by WoW Vault! The best reply will receive VIP Insider for 2 weeks! Potential winning posts are judged according to length, interpretation of the subject and writing style.

I want a pink dragon damn it! With sparkles.
And while I'm at it, a vanilla palamino without the armor. And frankly since there's no reason to have the level of the mount seperated by looks since riding mastery in the game, let me customize my mount by changing it's armor. Now for that kind of reward, I'd grind just about any sort of achievement.

Well no. The problem is my daughter wants to see the pink dragon and I don't have one to show her. Green, red, black, blue, white, purple, orange. And there's a serious problem if she's on those sorts of drugs!! Her current favorite is the green proto drake.

There should be an achievement for getting the phrase "B Team" slipped into at least 100 of your posts on the official forums (before blizzard finds you "tiresome" and bans you) 
By the way, are there any posters left here who do not have too many TOS violations to receive the contest prize?

They put Menagerie in for 125 pets. I would think that a new one for number of mounts would eventually be added in.
On my main toon I collect both. It's something to do with gold.
The truth is I only use a few of the mounts. Ground mount isn't used that often which is a shame but my favorite is the zulian tiger.
Air mounts- most of the time i use the headless horseman mount. I think the green proto drake or the rusted proto is cooler looking but For the most part i prefer the smaller fingerprint of the HH mount. Can see more things on ground or around me if i'm on the HH mount.

I only use my HH mount. The wing flapping of flying mounts gets on my nerves really bad for some reason.
I have a bunch of rare mounts just sitting in the tab that will never get used

The only way I can say this is no, we do not need another X mounts achievement. While it is fun to collect them, and I do love to collect mounts, I think the collection and showing off of the mount is reward enough. Besides the achievement is going to dramatically skewed with the new rewards for Tanks/Healers (sorry I know it is for the lowest represented group but we know that is going to always be tanks and healers) that do heroics. Besides, some of us, or maybe it is just me, are getting tired of collecting a mount by hook or by crook only to find that they up the drop rate and then everyone has it. For example the Green Proto-Drake, I did the quest every week with the Oracles, it took 7 days for the egg to hatch and then only had a .1% chance to drop. The day it dropped I flew around everywhere because it took me 8 months to get it, and I was SO proud of it. Then here comes Cataclysm. Instead of leaving it as a rare hard to find drop. The up the percentage rate from .1% to 5%, that is ~200% greater chance. Then they reduced it to a 3-day cool down. I have seen so many green proto-drakes at this point that I removed him from my cast bar. Now with cata out so many people have the Undead Drake that it is worthless as well. The only thing that is worth getting now is Vial of the Sands, thankfully I am an Alchemist. That is until there are so many in the AH that they drop to 5000g and everyone and they remove the "REQUIRES ALCHEMY" requirement, and I am sure they will.
So long story. . . but no we don't need the achievement because it has no merit.

I have a few ideas:
These could be weekly "realm first" style prints to chat so we know who's topping the achievement list.
- most time spent AFK
- most time spent AFK in PVP zones
- most time spent AFK in PVP zones while moving
- most time spent AFK in instances
- most emotes within 50 yards of a capital city mailbox
- most time spent within 50 yards of a mailbox while in a queue
- most trade channel messages without the letters "LF" "WT" "sell" "buy" or "need"
- longest average time between killing another player in BGs
- most kills within 50 yards of a graveyard in BGs
- most ALT+TABs to a browser while in an instance
- highest click-to-keyboard ratio
- highest average difference between your level and your PVP victims' levels
- highest average epics gained per hour in raid instances
- highest average epics gained per hour in raid instances 5+ levels lower than your char level
- most bankers killed in an enemy capital city
- lowest average time between mounting a flying mount and your most recent PVP kill
- most occurrences of guards reporting "ERROR: no path/LOS to enemy" while trying to attack you
- most times hearthed after casting bubble while in combat
- most times hearthed after casting bubble while in PVP combat
- most times hearthed after casting bubble while not in combat

you can't bubble hearth out of pvp anymore...
the bubble doesn't last long enough to get the full hearth in.
I loved this change, and slayed many paladins who kept trying it..

I've only ever bubble/hearthed once out of a PvP fight. It was a 1v1 paladin vs. paladin fight where the other guy was forced to blow his LoH and bubble while I hadn't used either yet. I smashed him down to <25% life and decided I would bubble/hearth just because it was funny at the time.
