Subject: Had decal working but...
So I was thinking about coming back to AC and one of the big things that will determine if I come back is if I can get Decal working. So I have a 14day free trail and I do everything that the instructions say and I get decal working but I loaded lifetank. Ingame some people said I should get GoArrow, Virinditank and Alinco3. So I get them but Virinditank is really screwing up my graphics so I try to remove it and in the process decal now crashes AC. So I remove Decal and AC and try again like 3 times and I cannot get it to work.

Here is my export.

So I just figured out it was because part of Virinditank hadn't been removed and I tried adding the plugin again and Decal works in game. My big problem now is that Virinditank makes a horizontal band that flickers and scrolls from top to bottom. Any idea how to fix that?

Try lowering your graphics settings in game.

AC had a big graphics update a while back. Low now is equivalent to high a year ago.

Yup that worked, thank you.

Anyone know why Virinditank would screw up my screen like it did?

Without decal loaded, do you get the screen thing happening?

Could be the drivers for your card being out of date. Try updating em and see what happens.

I didn't have an issue with just AC. I thought I wasn't with just Decal but I'm having the graphics problem now with just Lifetank and GoArrow. Downloading the newest drivers for my HD 5800 now.

Even with the newest drivers I still get the really bad horizontal flickering that makes the game unplayable.

VT hosed my graphics too when I disabled it from running in Decal. I then did the uninstall per those directions, but my graphics are still hosed. Even without Decal running they are hosed. Driver is the latest and was running fine with and without Decal before the VT experiment on XP Pro. Looks like a reinstall.

Even a registry scour and a reinstall of AC without Decal running didn't fix it. Time to go deeper.

I found out years ago that if your sound driver is outdated, it can cause video problems with AC. Try updating your sound driver and see what happens.

After doing all of the above, a reinstall of DX9 seems to have fixed the issue so far. I have not installed Decal yet though.
