Thinking about coming back to AC and looking to get Decal running on my new computer with Win7. Read all the instructions but need to know, do you have to have DirectX9.0c or can you use a later version? My computer is currently running DirectX 11.

9.0c is required. You do not have to uninstall later versions.

I already have the later version running. What I'm asking is do I need to downgrade to 9.0c or will 11 be fine?

You must have 9.0c installed. It does not matter if you have dx11 installed or not. They are two different programs.

Ok, I will get Directx9.0c.

Final question, does having Win7 mean I have all the other .net and msxml files or do I have to do those as well?

Some decal plug ins require .Net Framework 1.1 If the plug in you want to use has that requirement then you have to install that version. It does not matter if you have a later version.

Please read the sticky post for information on installing on Windows 7.

DirectX is not completely downward compatible... .net frameworks are definitely not downward compatible.
