This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least 20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per page).

 Subject: Decal Networking Service <No Version> After Downtime Today
Oddly enough, after today's downtime, I can't get Decal to work. I'm getting no version for networking service.

Any help, greatly appreciated. happy

as soon servers were up i got in and decal has been working fine on 3 computers. 2 2.9.6.4 and 1 2.9.6.0

not being a decal expert, i can't see any problem other then the No version and don't know of any way of repairing the issue short of reinstalling decal itself.

hopefully a knownledgeable person will come by and give you some sound advice.

I got the same error when I installed the beta decal and tried to go back to the public release version. I ended up having to uninstall decal and remove all references to decal in the registry to get it to install correctly again.

Seems that Trend Micro doesn't like something with the Networking Service, it's quarantining decalnet.dll and labeling it as infected with "PE_JADTRE.A-0". It seems that this is a file dropper for malware. Other people who are running Trend Micro seem to be having this issue as well.

Very odd.

I would suspect that Trend was updated on the day of AC patch.
It may be a false positive but you now need to check your PC.

Do a full system scan using Trend.
Do a full system scan via http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/WelcomePage.asp

If the full scans catch more viruses then that is probably what nailed your dll.


If you feel certain it is a false positive then there should be
a way in Trend to tell it to not quarantine.
