the 23rd of this month my time was up. I can no longer post on the wow forums. So basically they are charging me 15 dollars (rounded up) to play their game and now I have to pay their 15 dollars to post something on their forums?

What reason could you possibly have to post on their forums if you don't play anymore? Actually let me rephrase that, what reason could you possibly have to post on their forums ever? The only posts that don't get deleted are the fanboys sucking Blizzard's proverbial penis.

Sorry, as far as Activision/Blizzard is concerned, only money talks.

well there is always some moments where I´d want to post. For instance when people ask for class specific questions but get trollspammed . Yet, it´s not worth paying $$ to save them.

I will be broad minded about the OP. What he's really telling us is that WoW sucked so much that he enjoyed posting on the forums more than he did playing! And now that he's not playing he's been deprived of his favorite forum posting past time.

When your trying to get an issued addressed by Customer Service. Example, my account was set to expire on day X at 19:00 or so. I was playing on the previous day when it booted me and told me my time was up when I went back to the screen. So I hit account management up and it say, you expire today, yet on a tab further down in FireFox there was day X with time 19:00 or so.

So I figured I would post on Customer Service and ask, after they are far faster than e-mail. I had already posted a week before stating that each time I checked account management I would get a different time for the same day.

Sounds like a valid reason to cease all contact with the company to me. What good is arguing about a days worth of playtime when it's clear that they don't care.

You don't see the benefit in perhaps being able to let Blizzard know of issues you are having, and perhaps not having the boards end up giving Blizzard the impression that everything they do is universally acclaimed (since anyone who disagreed strongly enough has squelched themselves by quitting)?

Maybe if Blizzard had less yes-men and fanboys on their boards (and in their dev team for that matter) and more people posting about why they are no longer satisfied, they wouldn't be bleeding subscribers like they are.

shock

What does any of that have to do with letting people who don't have active accounts post on the official forums?

You need to take them with a grain of salt as they are chalk full of fan boys, exaggerators, flat out liars and I believe paid to post posters hired to protect Blizzards image along with some 2700 employees doing that very same thing.

It's the board VIPs that are the absolute worst. Fluff posters all of them, with a mission to derail any thread that might have serious issues content in it with inanities and banalities.

I should have guessed you'd make such an answer BK, but that's not what I was meaning at all.
What I was meaning is this:

That's why I don't understand why someone would even want to post there, even less when they don't even play anymore.

As much as I hate to agree with Korrigan, I have to in this case.

If you've cancelled, your time is up, and you can't play anymore, why bother posting to their forums? And even if you did post something, the simple fact that you cancelled just means whatever you post is likely to be deleted within minutes anyway.

In the case of the guy that got screwed out of game time, you don't want to waste your time with the forums anyway. Contact customer support, for whatever that is worth. You'll get more satisfactory results than posting about it and getting "lrn2sub", "lrn2creditcard", "lrn2someotheruselessphrase" from all the asshats and fanboys before you actually get a blue response, assuming you get a blue at all anyway.

Can't believe anyone would defend continuing some one's right to bitch on a private game forum when they stopped paying and playing.

They already voted with their feet and gave reasons when they unsubbed as part of the process.

I'm sure there are some articulate people that can adequately phrase what they think is wrong with the game. However, Plowing through the miasma of idiocy from the mass of professional bitchers hardly makes it worthwhile to find those few pearls.

Even the brainless will have to admit that in any game... the bitchers are almost always vastly outnumbered by the happy people, But at the same time soak up a disproportional amount of forum space. There are still plenty of people left who will take up the fight and bitch for you. They have nothing better to do anyway.

If you want to continue to bitch or offer suggestions to Blizzard then cough up one day's lunch money and go for it. Otherwise, sit in a corner and go back to chewing on crayons.

Beyond that- it's not intended to be a forum for anyone and everyone. It is a forum for THEIR CUSTOMERS. If you are not a customer, why do think you have the right to post on the forums they own and operate? The people that are defending someone's right to post on those boards just bitch because it's what they do. Anyone with common sense can think this one through.

As bad as the forums are, how would allowing in former or never played people in? Yikes.

As a gamer, for official forums, I only want to see people who are subbed posting.

This may be one of the most brainless statements ever made.

The happy people in no way shape or form outnumbered the bitchers is practically every MMO released in the last 10 years: Warhammer, Horizons, Tabula Rasa, and tons and tons of other MMO's, most of which have shut down.

Did you bother to think, at all, before posting that? happy
