This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.

I don't post here very often, but am a long-term lurker. I had a very strange experience when I first began playing WoW: I picked a RP server out of a hat, rolled up a priest, and started looking for a guild. After joining this guild I discovered that one of the members just happened to be someone I was in the same guild with back in '04 on Guinevere, a whole game away.
I think I'd like to repeat this experience and run into a few more of you in WoW, if any of us are still a-kickin'. Most of my old RP crew from those days are still playing WAR (don't ask me why). I don't know if any of the old RPers from Tintagel ever read this board in particular, but if you do, I hope you chime in.

I used to play on Guin/Mid. I was in the guild Aeresord (very small.) As far as I know, everyone that was in my guild no longer play any mmos. As for me, I'm on Black Dragonflight/Horde. I tried to get back into DAoC. A combination of long existing serious bugs, poor support and a degraded community turned me off permanantly to it. It would be great to see a revival of the game, but I don't see that happening....ever.

I was on hib/guin in Soldiers of the glade.. some of us were on frostwolf and I know some people from guin that also played on stormreaver but yeah I don't think anyone plays anymore. I also just closed my account.
Looks like most of the old school daoc folks are going to try out rift.

All the DAoC players are on Rift now, hoping that it will be the next "DAoC 2".
Seriously, if you look for (ex)DAoC players, try the Rift board, a ton of them there.

A board about a game I'm not planning on playing probably would not be so helpful. I was just wondering if anyone was still playing WoW, mostly. I was in Larian's guild back in tha day, if anyone remembers.

Yeah, I'm not interested at all in Rift either. I'm hoping to bide my time in WoW until Star Wars comes out. If that sucks (/cross fingers) then I may be done with mmos for a long while. Finding entertainment in WoW is getting harder and harder though. The pvp sucks, which was my main attraction to DAoC. I hate raiding in pve, its about as entertaining as watching paint dry. Since its not really "required" as it was in DAoC, I pretty much don't touch it. I'll do a dungeon here and there on my lowbies, but thats a whole different animal then raiding...though still boring.

I used to raid some but as a healer carrying dummies in WotLK and shouldering unnecessary abuse in Cata... I can't see myself bothering with it for awhile, if at all. I mean, let's face it: if I were playing WoW for PvE progression, I wouldn't be running a guild on a RP server.
PvP in WoW DEFINITELY isn't my thing. I find myself just a touch nostalgic for the strategy and coordination required to field an hours-long offensive or defensive effort culminating in massive facesmash at a mile gate, complete with some animist spelling 'MIDS SUCK' and thinking he's clever.
What it comes down to for me in WoW these days, and what keeps me logging in is the RP. It's what kept me in DAoC far beyond when I probably should've jumped ship. (Killibury cluster, disco in Lab, yeesh.) Meeting with people who have grown to be my friends and telling a story with them. That's why I'm still playin'.
