I'm slowly giving up on WoW pvp. My biggest ray of hope so far has been Rift which releases in March I think. I happened upon a few video reviews of DCUO and the game looks fun. Has anyone here played the game? Is the pvp enjoyable? I guess I'm looking for world pvp (ie. not fair numbers all the time and random locations and situations). I do like character control to be good.
Does anyone have any DCUO insight for me?

I'm playing on a PvP Server off and on. It's fun, but it has issues that might turn many off.
-Balance is pretty bad.
-There isn't a reward (or penalty) system for open world pvp.
-The world is fairly small.
-The UI is very limited and quite literally the game is easier with a controller on a PC.
-The UI is VERY limited (worth stating twice)
-No system in place to keep sides close to even. At least a 4-1 ratio villains to heroes.
-All PvP gear is acquired via basically doing Arenas.
That all said, it is not particularly hard and there are a lot of new/bad players. I'm enjoying it now but can't see the PvP servers being populated very well in a few months when everyone who is just "trying it out" leaves. If you are ever going to try it at all... you better try it right now (IMHO).
Lot of flash, little substance... but sometimes that is good for a good time.

Trige.. I havent played it.. but I have a couple guildies who bought it played and it dropped it already. They basically said that PVP fights came down to spam your attack ability as fast as you possibly can. They said PVE was just about the same. Like I said, I havent played it.. but they were both pretty much in lockstep with their review of the game.

You cant compare DCUO to most PVP games. DCUO is like WoW combined with Devil May Cry or God of War. You have combos you can do or you can just hit one button like in WoW to do a move. I'm playing on a PVP server on the PS3 and I'm only level 12 (of 30) so far, but I have been ganked so many times it sucks. The game is, however, more gear dependant then level, so a low level can potentially kill higher levels, similar to AC. You're not going to have a 10 kill a level 30, but a level 8 can kill a 12 (and I have)

Quite possibly the shortest and most frantic pvp fights to date. Does not feel "super" at all.
The game has other redeeming qualities for the pve minded but, it is not a solid pvp game.

The next beta for Rift starts Jan 25th. If you go to their forums You can see how to sign up. It's effectively a open beta this time.
I have a 25 use VIP Beta key. Use this it to sign up and give the game a shot.

You sign up then wait for them to send you a e-mail with instructions.
There are a ton of people sharing their beta keys.
