Yet another returnee happy

I started about '98 and left a year or so after houses came into the game. Loved being an archer/mage and left a lvl 82 behind on LC when my Dark Majesty account exprired.

Is it possible that my old char can be recovered by turbine? Do they even do that after all these years?

One way or another I'll be playing, but want to clear up this question before registering.

I would assume so under most circumstances.

By chance were you still around when accounts were migrated from Microsoft over to Turbine? When that happened, there was a new way to sign in. I manage to remember my login information, but I have yet to resubscribe because I'm waiting on some PC stuff.

After reading all the release notes for the updates I missed, there was never an indication that they were purging old characters, so that's why I think you're ok. Might just be a slightly tedious process to do so.

Thanks for the response. Here's what I have found out.

I managed to get thru on the phone to Turbine AC support today. A support ticket will be required from the customer. They got me started on the process (SEE BELOW).

There's a link in the howto that get's you to the ticket submission page.

Here's what the helpdesk guy told me about the various ticket fields (NONE of which can be left blank).

ACCOUNT USERNAME: the old Microsoft accont login name if you can remember it, na if not
GAME: select AC from the pulldown menu
SUPPORT TEAM: select AC Paid Services from the pulldown menu
REQUEST TYPE: select Migration from the pulldown menu
CARD HOLDER NAME: na
LAST 4 DIGITS: 1111
CHARACTER NAME: the old character name at a minimum, alt chars and mules if your can remember
MICROSOFT ZoneID: the login name from the old Microsoft account, or as close as you remember.
CURRENT WORLD: the old character's server, such as Leafcull, Solclaim, or Morningwood (heh)
SUBJECT: like any email subject line
DESCRIPTION: additional info to help them find the character...I included my old email addy for example.

Apparently, Turbine may be able to help one remember the old ZoneID. This form other posts on this subject and from the helpdesk guru today.

I recovered my account with no problems after being away for eight years. This was last April. It does take some time, however, so be prepared to wait a couple of weeks while they get around to it.

I knew my Zone ID and the name of my characters, so the process was painless. If you don't remember your Zone ID they can still recover if you have other information.

I was able to get my acct back also after 8 years away or so without a prob and yes there is a bit of a wait but I created some newbie toons and played them while waiting. Just remember that any char you play will be erased when they migrate your old acct over. I used my char name and they sent me the prod code from the box which was used to create a turbine account. Hope all goes well for you and welcome back
