I tried looking....

But since 4.0 people have been raving about thier shams. I was wondering if it was Ele shams or Ench shams that were doing well right now.

Thanks.

Either or really. Unleash Element has really changed it up, combined with the LS / ES thing for ele or lava lash / searing totem thing for enh.

Having trouble healing heroics right now, starting out, but i think thats to be expected.

Thank you. Think I'll go with Melee DPS.

I really like the way Elemental Shamman Mastery works.

Something with Flametongue is bugged for Enhance so they're doing a bit more than they should be.

I made a Tauren sham during wrath with BoAs and got to 17. It wasn't any fun. I shelved him. I deleted him. So now I have a dwarf Sham. I love it.

I like what spells they give you now compared to the order you recieved them earlier. Before it was the stoneskin totem..now it's strength of earth totem. I did have to get into the habit of reminding myself to recast lightening shield. BU tnow with the lightening shield glyph it's not an issue. One thing I miss...

The totem quests.

I remember going for my fire totem and it was as a cool quest chain that took me to parts of Durotar I'd never been to before. Someone once said..."if you can make it through the quest chain for oyur water totem...you'll stick with your shaman. That quest chain either makes'em or breaks'em." I now wish I had the chance to do those.

I'm at 30 now. And unfortunatly I'm a scribe....why? Because besides my hearth I have astral recall now and scrolls to hearth me back. Feels like a waste.

Elemental Mastery kicks bootoi, but if you didn't like elemental before, you probably won't now. Unlesh adds a nice element to the rotation, and unleashed lava bursts are great fun to watch, but it's still a pretty simple dps caster. If you dig that, it's more of the same (and on better footing in terms of dps equality).

Earthquake remains useless. =P

I'm really beginning to dig Resto as I grow into heroic level, but I have to say this whole more than one button thing is hogwash. I'm still basically just ripping a single heal spell as opposed to ripping a chain, but eh, more to come I'm sure.

I'm really fighting the urge to off-spec elemental since I would have to fish for another set of gear for it. Otherwise I'm really liking it.

It's only 'bugged' if you are using a caster MH doing FT / FT and most are not.

Unleash is a waste of a gcd. It would be good if it didn't use a gcd :\ then you could macro it in with lvb. As it stands right now it just isn't worth using a gcd that could be used on lb or cl. Especially when our mastery is so good. Using unleash takes out a possible mastery proc.

I guess I can see the number crunchery behind it if you consider that GCD used on a bolt, for instance, which will add a charge to shield, potentially trip mastery, and, at higher gear levels, trump the 20% to burst and its own initial damage.

Still, I'll take my placebo while out grinding leather and pretend we got a new tool.

I should edit my comment on one/two button healing. I guess if you count my now having to purge, hex, bind, and shear on pulls, I am healing with quite a few more buttons. laugh

Shammy's have been OP since day 1. Just felt the need to add that.

One other thing I've noticed since I started a shaman is the reaction you get in a dungeon.

More than once I've heard, "Yeah a Shaman." or "I love running dungeons with a shaman."

Pretty cool. Don't get that with other class.

Shaman were incredibly underwhelming in BC unless you healed and with the hybrid tax in Wrath they were still underwhelming. They were 'OP' in vanilla when Windfury could still proc itself. Resto was never OP in Vanilla; Paladins had / have / had that title
