Join us at 9 p.m. PST on Monday, December 6 at the Fountain Valley Fry?s Electronics in Southern California for the Cataclysm midnight launch. Help us celebrate the dawn of a new age with the powerful music of The Artists Formerly Known as Level 80 Elite Tauren Chieftain, an epic /dance competition, autographs from the development team, and more.
The party begins at 9 p.m. so be sure to arrive early, and get your copy* signed by the developers when the store opens at midnight on December 7.
If you don?t live close enough to Southern California to make it, don?t worry -- there are other select retail locations opening at midnight around North America to celebrate the launch of Cataclysm. For a list of participating stores, check out the websites below:
This isn?t necessarily an exhaustive list of retailers hosting midnight launch events, so check availability with your local retailer.

Eh, I bought from the Blizzard store. I had reserved a copy at my local Gamestop but when I found out the content wouldn't be available until midnight PST...I figured what was the point in rushing out to zomg-get-copy-fast-so-I-can-play-right-away if I wasn't going to be able to play for 2 hours anyway? I'll sleep until 1:45 my time then wake up to play. ^_^

I'm not sure why anyone would be compelled to go stand in line for a box ( unless you're a collector edition fan boy ). Digital download is so much less hassle.

But of course, mine is already completely pre-paid and will simply be waiting for me at Gamestop at 10:00 a.m. the morning of the 7th. No need for me to go at midnight and stand in line

Having the disc would save a whole lot of download time should you ever need to re-install the game.

Except they will have sold your copy to someone else by that time, pre-paid or not. That's just the kind of snaffu retailers are becoming famous for lately. The horror stories I heard during the past couple of years from players pre-ordering Warhammer Online, Age of Conan, etc. I don't trust my local Game Stop to still have it in the morning, I will be in line at 10pm Monday night and snag mine before they have a chance to show just how incompetent they can actually be at what should be a smooth and pain free thing.
