Yep - they work on getting you rep for whatever city faction you are using. I ran through the second half of Strat, killed everything and got about 1800 rep. On a side note, the Ardent Crusaders that show up at the end is pretty cool too.
Not mount drop though =P

Just an FYI: They do not work in BC dungeons for this, as those dungeons already give rep for BC factions. I don't think they work in Northrend dungeons either(according to a guildy)
Am I just being stoopid and it's already confirmed that just old world dungeons give tabard rep and I missed it?

Ill run through a few dungeons and see myself. Strangely in Strath you get Ardent rep if you dont wear the tabard. If its on, the rep is converted to whatever city rep the tabard is. Im surprised this isnt the case in BC dungeons.

The hotfix will make it so these tabards work for Heroic and normal Northrend dungeons, however, there are no plans as of yet to apply this change to Outland dungeons.

Realized they were bugged pretty quickly last night. I had bought all 3 of the available ones at Org and tried them all in Northrend 5 man Heroics without getting a single point. But hey, a couple of them look good at least

Yep, Darnassas right by the Darn rep merchant and the Flight Path merchant by the portal to the boat launches.

No idea, just didn't see much point to city rep vendors if they just offer level 35 cloaks.

A lot of 80's and long time characters are already exhalted with a lot of city factions, so they'd just be giving out freebies.
With the 1-60 revamp, it could just be another reward for those leveling.
What I'm finding to be stupid is they change 1-60 but don't change the outlands instances (outlands questing is already hubbed and stupid fast). A lot of instance quests for outlands have prereqs, or nobody makes the flights to get them, or whatever, and most of the time you never get them done.
I'd like to see the city tabards surpass normal outland reps too in instances. Wear tabard, get tabard rep. Take off tabard, get useless outlands rep (pretty much useless if you're leveling).
