Subject: ACDC, Win 7-64, and Peformance Counters
Two machines, side-by-side, both seemingly identical in install, setup, and install files. One does dual client fine, including the Prompt for turning on Performance Counters. The other, the one for which I'm posting a Decal Export, does not prompt for Performance Counters and does not allow multiple clients to run.

In fact, when I load even one AC client through ACDC, Decal toolbar won't show up.

Here's my export, please help me:

It has something to do with the "lodctr"

I had a link to the page with the info and the command you needed to run to fix it.

Think you run lodctr /R from a command prompt.

I tried the command and got the following results:

C:\>LODCTR /R
Info: Successfully rebuilt performance counter setting from system backup store

Still no luck though. I don't get the performance counter prompt at all, Decal doesn't show in the client window and I get the following message from ACDC when I try to login a 2nd client:

"There is a client already running on this machine. It is not possible to run two clients on the same machine. Please use the already running client."

Have you compared the two Decal Exports?

Have you read through this thread?

Are you running Vista or Win 7?

If so, where do you have dual client installed?

Also, you may need to do a thorough uninstall of dual client (registry entries) and then reinstall.

Ball, Heme said in the title it's Win7 64bit....

She'd tried all the normal install issue gotcha's, install path and the stuff like that.

Sorry, made that last post at midnight last night. Wasn't thinking clearly.

Had a guy a few weeks ago I helped with this problem, and the lodctr /r thing actually fixed his problem.

If you still aren't getting the performance counters pop up asking to enable them, check and make sure you don't have something disabled that it needs to run. There may also be a setting that is saved in the registry, which is why I said you may need to do a thorough uninstall, including registry entries, then try again.

For example...have you run msconfig and disabled services? Alot of services are interdependent.

May take a little research, but you can rectify the problem. Took me about 5 hours to get the guy running a few weeks ago.
