He's not happy having a really sore throat. Go figure.

No idea where he caught it, here's hoping I don't get a turn too. Happy hand washing!

Not Strep after all. =/ Stupid clinics, they didn't even do a swab.

He's got an infection of some sort that triggered an asthma attack later in the day. Thank goodness for having an awesome children's hospital in town. He's four and a half, typical age for these type of issues to show up. Guess he got a bunch of my genes after all, sorry kiddo.

I mostly grew out of my issues so here's hoping he'll follow that pattern. For now he's got inhalers and stuff to deal with the current infection and help prevent more attacks. The stuff they have now is so much easier than the crap I had to deal with as a kid. (Or the even worse stuff kids with more severe issues had to deal with.)

My wife is pretty freaked out but she'll get over it I'm sure. Once he gets over this cold or whatever it'll be easier I'm sure. Just in time for the start of school. plain

My youngest girl has asthma, we always have an inhaler, but it seems her allergies seem to trigger the issues more often then not

Even if your little guy doesnt outgrow it, he'll adapt, as will mama eventually

I'm glad it's not strep!!

Yeah, allergies always triggered it for me too. It was wonderful growing up on a farm. Doing hay was my least favourite thing and even 10 years after we stopped having any chickens, just going near that barn triggered an attack for me. I intend to at least have a little more sympathy then my father did.

Kiddo has a little cough from whatever it is, but he's doing fine otherwise. One more day of extra doses with the inhaler and then it's just a maintenance dose with one and another one for emergencies.

Poor little kiddo. It's hard to see them sick. I hope this is something he can grow out of soon.

One of the meds is making him a little less sweet than his usual self. It's either the antibiotic or the steroids. Both of those are a short prescription thank goodness. I can't remember which of those two had that as a possible side effect.

He's otherwise full of energy and only coughing as part of the cold, no real breathing issues. We'll see how he does over the next few days with the elimination of some meds.

I'd bet on it being the steroids

Poor little man!! Glad you've got him on the road to recovery, however.

Our doc just got in a swab kit thing that they do right there on the spot for strep. It's neato.
