Seems like a lot of the new MMO's coming out have forsaken even the thought of a server with a PvP/FFA ruleset. A lot of very angry, frustrated blue/RvR players seem to be wholeheartedly against it as well. What are we gonna do folks? I miss PvP terribly.

Nothing. FFA PvP is a dying genre, the mmo market is dominated by carebears and fluffy mugs who get the rocks off killing some AI who can't hack playing the game the hard way. Pretty sure Darkfall was probably the last ffa pvp that'll be out for a good long while. Shame.

What is even coming out this year to look at? You have KOTOR mmo, which will prolly be duals or pvp-less.
Then GW2, that'll have lots of PvP.
And uhhhhhhh? Cataclysm? lol, it'll have rated battlegrounds which is almost like rated 8v8!

The only people who kill other people online now are people who play some form of FPS or RTS. Most MMO pvp is meh, and PVP like DAOC's is overlooked because it was never really known.

The reason FFA PVP is never going to work in the long run is because the FFA PvP is only fun when you are farming bads (read. action). Bads that get farmed are going to log off and post on forums (read. Damaja). PvPers are going to seek bads to farm elsewhere (read. WoW, the players that came from UO to DAoC, AoC, Shadowbane(lul), blue servers, Lineage2, WAR, Aion?)
Every time you portal hopped Damaja somone quit the server. Now you are trying to revive it so you can continue the hopping. The irony is amazing.

Hey, he had some good 8v8s. He'd mashed /assist asberic on inc and lost mezz to an unbuffed Eldritch during a timer camp. Pretty pro IMO.

Not sure where you get your information bud, But I was not a portal hopper, never was. As a matter of fact Goth was the one zone I hated to pvp in, I usually worked DL mostly and ToA. I stayed out of Cots as well. But whatever, 2% of the server that still posts here are true PvPers, the rest are just haters. I pushed promos for this server as hard as anyone has in the past, I have handed out more crafted gear and cash than I can remember. I have done my part to try to help the server regardless if folks cared or not.
Chuva ... If people believe the stuff that comes out of your mouth, then that is there right. You and I both know and that is what really counts right?  /hug
You have a small handful of decent folks left that actually want to try to help Mordred, that is why it will fail. God Bless VN but VN has never been a "help" for Mordred.
PS: Chuva, did i timer camp your group? Yup, twice actually, it's no big deal ... we both dislike each other, hell it's PvP ... You don't find me STILL bitching about your group port in camping my group porting into Volc that time ... hey, it happens, yup and we lost. Both sides were pissed but like I said, thats Mordred lol It's PvP and I would do it all over again if I could. You need to move on, let go of the past lol it's a game.

I found this game the other day, Runes and Magic. Its a F2P mmo thats really hardcore pvp ffa, you can even kill people in your guild, anyways so far its reminding me alot of daoc and some of you may wanna check it out.
