	I played AC back in the day (till the end of 2004) then switched to World of Warcraft for several years. I have not played much of any game since 2007 due to work; however, I recently quit work as I will be starting a graduate school program this fall and well I find myself having spare time for the first time in a few years. Back in the day, my main character was Logan Silvermoon. I played primarily on this server (same char on DT and VT as well). I spent some time figuring out my account info and finally managed to log in after several hours of effort I logged into WE earlier today and I realized that I barely remember how to play this game. I am certain several things have changed, and I will probably log in every now and then to check things out. Anyways to get to the point, I left AC along with the majority of the core group I played with. I am writing this post to say "hi" and to see if any of the old-timers are still around. Oh, and I noticed that the level cap was moved to 275. Is there any tangible benefit of leveling that high? Training a few new skills and maxing them out seems pointless, though the jump from level 126 to 239 was insteresting. Anyways, I plan to play the game very casually (and possibly not for long) so the level cap probably does not matter. -----signature-----

	Hi, once you get all your skills maxed, the only benefit from 275 is an extra skill credit. 	Hey Logan, I remember you back in the day. The 275 cap basically is just for the extra skill creds as was already stated, by about 240-250 you usually have all your skills maxed and any extra xp you have goes to augmentations. 	I don't think airmail appreciates being called old Is there anything specific that is worth doing for a super casual player who will probably get tired of playing for more than a 30 minute stretch? Don't get me wrong, I loved AC back in the day, but I only activated my account now because I am bored and was curious about the state of the game. -----signature-----

I think I am under "Lifestone Express" at the moment. I never recalled changing tags, but I must have around the time VT came out as that was the name of our VT guild. 	The old days were fun. Especially the pvp. Looking back, I wish I had pvp'd more and done other things less AC had (has?) one of the most exploitable pvp systems; however, it was definitely one of the most fun pvp systems. The pvp in other games I have played (old school games like daoc, uo, and eq or newer ones like wow) don't really compare imo. -----signature-----

	I logged in game and noticed that I am actually poor. I could have sworn I had packs of MMD notes, salvage, items and god knows what else. I guess they were all in my house or on one of the multiple accounts I have yet to figure out the username/passwords for! Luckily for me, the information on my main account (Logan Silvermoon) was the one I was actually able to figure out. Unfortunately for me, I kept most of my stuff on the other accounts! Oh well, I have enough for my purposes of blowing a few mobs anyways. -----signature-----

	HI Tass, I remember you . Mostly the days when Exempt and War contolled the 2 highest xp dungeons in the game on tusker island. I was a Highlander back then under Ionia the Younger altho I started in Eternal Circle. I'm surprised Mary hasn't popped on and said Hi Hope you enjoy the game again for a while. Many changes and although it's not necessary to cap out at 275, you want to be at least 200 to take advantage of a lot of the new content like societies (min 180) and such. -----signature----- (none)

	I doubt I will get too much into the societies/etc. Mainly playing the game for the "old times sake" factor since I have a few weeks off from work/etc before grad school begins. I had a few maxed out characters from back in the day so they should all be in the 235-240ish range right now (granted I was only able to recover the Logan Silvermoon account). I switched all my accounts from Zone to the new system right before WoW came out because Dire contacted me and told me the zone log-ins would be wiped out. Probably a mistake on my part because I still remember the old log-ins, but I don't recall the new ones. Most of my limited log on time has been spent trying to PK or just navigate my way to various places. -----signature-----

	Mr. Friend, I have no idea how things are compared to 1 years ago; however, compared to 5.5 years ago, the game is fairly dead. I have only clocked in 2-3 hours on AC over the last several days, but I have run into very few people. -----signature-----

	I remember that name. AC isn't bad nowadays. They have put in a lot of nice things in the game. I came back after several years and I was satisfied with the content change. I have since stopped playing but mainly due to RL taking up the spare time. I agree with you on the PVP opinion. UO was the next best PVP imo. My first several years of AC included no macroing I only started macroing after I was a true AC veteran, and I clocked more time playing chars and supplying macros than most people realize. When you run 4+ chars nearly 24/7 for a couple years you have to spend a lot of time getting them supplied etc. Though in retrospect, the main reason I "macroed" was the social aspect of the game (especially after I hit maxed out chars). My friends macroed, and I spent time in IRC/etc talking to them. With that said, you need not fear my former heathen ways I don't have the time or the inclination to macro. In fact I have not even installed decal yet. Granted the decal part is largely because I have spent the few hours of ingame time I have logged roaming around AC and not doing anything specific. And yes I did get the wink, but you know me, I have always been a sucker for macro talk! I do remember you Poison Frog. I stopped playing at the end of 2004 (around when WoW came out), so I definitely knew you (original one). -----signature-----

	Nice to see some old faces I recall. I played from beta up until 2005. Started on HG with the Chosen guild from day one launch, then moved to WE when guild got too political, then moved to WoW after Ms Onyx and Mr Blue's guild fell apart. Tinkering with the idea of coming back to look around, but not much luck in finding old account information. Not big on PK or macroing, so my mains were only about 70 or so, Abbott, Ni'Koji and BelKoji were more known for holding clan community events and helping lower levels. I ran a bunch of contests like "Find Me" on the WE board before I left to give away all my pack dolls, gear, pyreals(?), cottage, etc. Even the old computer I played on is long gone. Any tips on recovering info? I'd hate to start over at 1, especially with most folks probably in the 200+ range... ** LOL, lost my 10,000 posts since I dropped my IGN premium too! -----signature-----

You have to "move" your IGN account to get it back. I am not too clear on the process, but honestly, it took more effort to get back my IGN account than to figure out my AC accounts password. The AC website has a "forgot" password option. You input the email address and it sends you password reset information. Unfortunately, it won't tell you if the email address is not on your database. I typed in a bunch of email addresses and recovered my main account. Good luck with it. AC is very much the same if you ignore some of the new quests/etc. The game has the same feel, but there seems to be a lot of new content. I am not the best person to ask as I have done none of the new content. JUst burning some time killing stuff at places I have been before. I am only back for a month so I am not bothering to do the new stuff. -----signature-----

	Thanks. I'll try that. Remembering the fun times at the BSD with my little mage, feast or famine. With others around scrambling to get kills but when empty got overwhelmed and died a lot. Was it level 50 restricted or level 30? And the fun times, the very first week of AC1 launch (was it '95?) when the guild officers leveled up quickly and made a long and dangerous run to the horrifying Matekar Cave to get hides from the Great Matekars for that "uber" coat even mages could wear! LOL. Lonnnnnnnng time back. And burning up precious tapers trying every conceivable combination to learn spells. Seemed a shame when the code was broken and widely distributed. Are the exp chains still used? That was great for leveling up a fighter and at the same time leveling up a different person for trade skills. Of course the widespread use of macros runined most of it. -----signature-----

People went there early with level 7 buffs back in the day (granted I am talking a few years after the game first came out). Not really sure exactly when the game came out, but it was in the 95-96 period I think. The taper thing changed well before I left (only one kind of taper) and spells are not learnt via trial and error (or split pea). These changes occured in the early 2000s (not sure exactly when). Exp chains were changed around 2003 or so (a year or so before I quit). You get more xp from vassals, but the xp received from people under your vassals was nerfed. All this info could be 5 years or more outdated. -----signature-----

	Can't say I remember you. :P Don't quit though, I'd suggest joining an active guild (Dun, Cyns, and Haven are all good) and chatting/questing with them. Makes the game a bit brighter having people to talk to. If anything, try Frostfell if you are looking for people en masse to talk with/be around. 	I just started playing again. I recognize a couple of the names from the old days. Elwood for one. I dabbled in PvP for most of my time here. My character never got all that high but then when I was playing, not many people ever even broke 100. Level 126 was the cap but for most it was just some unattainable myth. 	Ya, Nzom , his bro Hideous, and a few others all came over from Solclaim to reroll on WE when it opened. Those were such fun times. Man, pk'ing back in those days was a blast. There was so much action everywhere. Used to fight for hours and hours every day. Especially at either the subway or the temple. I remember when Hollow wepaons came out. Scared the hell out of us robe wearers. Til we learned to perch hehe Now I kill tusker guards :P Oh well, it's still addicting as hell. Levelling is so much easier now! Just complete a few tasks and they give you 20 mill XP which is like 1/3 of my total. Amazing. I guess they really added a lot of high end content and that's where they want people playing. I'll get there but i'm soloing AC these days, so it's going to make it a bit tougher. Easier on my RL time though heh Take care Elwood! oh btw, in game im now the "Captain"s - meaning my names all start with Captain something or other. Not much time for games these days for both of us. I just checked my account and it went inactive since 2007 because my credit card expired. Haha! AC was really the best game and worst game I ever played. Best as in the most fun and well built (at times, depending on patch), and the worst because it just took up too much time. Time away from wonderful real life. These days I have two daughters. Between work, wife and kids, there really isn't much room for games. Especially games like AC. I think my wife still gets the chills when she hears us talk about the old days of AC. Level 275? Wow, that's quite a jump in levels that Turbine added. For me, and my brother and Tweak, AC lost it's luster when they removed godmode and jump healing. AC is so unique. So ahead of it's time. All questing, lore, etc of a fantasy game... but all the adrenaline, speed, skills of a first person shooter. When they nerfed it, it started the downhill spiral. Great memories though. Remember when we first started and being in the towns was one of the only "safe" areas. Going off the beaten path really was dangerous. Exploring the wilderness was dangerous and fun! When Wintersebb opened, rushing to be the first to Ayan boquer to port tie there. All the wonderful quests we used todo. The great times talking on RogerWilco. I will never forget watching you PK several people at once (back when that was very uncommon). Solo'ing the Aerilinth Quest when people said that was impossible. Killing people in Ayan with my little "OwnzYou" character that was like level 3. Having Maxed out UA skill on a full Magic Defense Mage, and surprise the hell out of people when I swung once and they died! Remember the good ole days of when a robe fully baned was all you needed? Before hollow weapons. I will never forget when Macros were so simple and your character had to be in a safe distance from anything that could kill you. I took the challenge on making the (what I believe was) the first macro that could kill and defend itself. For the few that got to use it you know how it would fully defend itself. It even talked to the other people running my plugin and macroing in the same area on a private IRC network. To optimize safety of dieing and to optimize which monsters to kill. In the later times, I worked with a math professor to develop a AI algorithm that would track all spawn points (even ones that seemed random), and over time would predict exactly the spawn and move to the spawn location. Lastly, the super macro monarchies. We would level up characters to 125 (the max at the time) in one second. Ahhh.. Those days. Damn, those were fun days. P.S. For my plugins. If decal is still around, I bet they would still work if recompiled. The PK one was called Darkthirst. Is there even such a type of plugin these days? P.S.S. I still talk with Diabolic. 	this is Dark-Merlin from old EC, and a couple other alliances ive been in. I started in what 2001 or 2000, whenever wintersebb went online.....wow 10 or 11 years gone and I still check this from time to time. I remember my first VN post/thread (was already playing for awhile but didnt know about the boards) was whining that Naja empire used to hide behind the mansion barrier and come out just to drain/harm then jump back in. all were macroed 110+ and I was lvl 60 (When I played my original character Pitbull) and I got whooped easily...so I told em they all sucked on VN boards. my side and their side started saying "stfu dont whine it's allowed in the game" and shiz... Well after 11 years of experience I can tell you all: - you still sucked ass - and I proved that to jake and elwood everytime we fought (on their macroed suped up LMCs, nonetheless) havent played in 6 years or more, hope you're all still doing well! friend or foe -----signature-----

	Logged in for the first time in over a year. Went to check out some Drudge fort where I had to destroy the Wall to get into the inner area. Made it all the way to the last wall solo then got creamed. ha ha It was fun but that Wall must have over a million in Health Points. Looking to play more often and was wondering if there are any decal utlities still available? The quest one I used to use a lot. thanks, WH -----signature-----

	Whats up everyone! Nice to see some familiar names. I miss the good ol' days of AC, but its still a fun game if you are on a decent server. DT seems to be doing just fine, but it can be tricky to start a char if you don't already have one. 	Hi!!! Wow, it was so great reading through this thread, I saw a few familiar names I used to play as Zeddmon, a lvl 156 mage here on WE (and 104 archer on DT)... I played from about 2001 until 2005, then switched to WoW for a few years and I am thinking about resubbing for a bit to AC, to see how the game is these days... I don't think anybody here still remembers me, but in this thread a few names ringed me a bell: Logan Silvermoon - didn't know you personally, only from the forum, if I recall correctly, you were quite active! Azzkickr - name sounds familiar Dire the Wise - though he did not show up in the thread (only his name), I remember him well, even PK'd against him... Nzom - didn't know you personally either but I remember you being active on forum Seeker of Kiwi - I remember you the most from the people in this thread, we used to hunt together a few times, fun old times! overslept - also from the forum, as your post count shows still quite active! Shortys-Og - also used to play with you, if I remember correctly! I was really surprised to see familiar names, I thought after so many years I would forget most and certainly not find them here on the forum, hehe! One funny thing that just popped into my mind... there was a thread about Exempt (I think that was the guild's name at the time) and it was about creating a motto for the guild... my favorite one was "We break the rules so you don't have to!" After leaving AC I admitted that I was playing waaaay too much, and it was better for my life that I left, but I just realized that despite all that I still have so many nice memories! Anyway, I am thinking about coming back a bit to see how the game is... could anyone fill me in a bit? Not on technical aspects of the game (nor the changes), but things like how many people keep playing on WE/DT, are there still active guilds, is it worth coming back? Also, I live in Europe, so my time zones are quite different than the US players' - does this mean I would find even a lot fewer players? My mage here was lvl 156 and my archer on DT was 104 - though out of stupidity I lost most of my stuff (account expired, most things left in house/villa). Is it hard to get back on my feet these days? Would not have that much time to play (back in the day I played a lot - but the game was also the type where you can't log in for 30 minutes - 1 hour because it was not enough for many things like hunting or questing). The problem with missing out so many years is that for example here on VNboards everything I had is lost... my signature for one, my watched user list, my posts, etc. - anyone knows why they were ALL deleted? I am using the same account I used 10 years ago although have not logged in for a few years and it asked me to change my profile name... Also, if I want to change profile, I always get server error 500 and things like that. It was great hearing from all of you, I hope someone still reads this thread! Edit: this is weird, even my post count and registry date is lost/changed... how do I get back my old account? I did password recovery to the email address of my old account, I got the link to change password, logged in and got this fresh account... why?? Edit2: Pff, I logged out and was unable to log back in - the great new login page always threw me back at the login page even though password is correct So... one more question: What happened to AC Friends forum??? It was too hard on their database so they got rid of it?? -----signature-----

	Hello all, I haven't seen some of these names in years. I played with Topdawg and... ahh geez....Karack? in the beginning days of macroing. Man, people hated us! I recall fellowing with Logan Silvermoon for weeks on end at some Tusker camps. Good times:) I left AC and played WOW for several years and I am looking at SWTOR. 	Adam says damn I miss being played. I say damn I miss playing Adam. Nothing else has come close to the fun I had playing AC. I have come back a couple of times and played for a few months but the old excitement just isn't there for me. I am thinking about playing again tho. Everything else is just boring, including my rl. At least until fishing season comes again. Hail to all my old friends, and enemies. My memory sucks now so I don't remember much about how to play and so much has been added it would take me 6 months to learn and relearn everything. Beobalf, Elwood, Jake, Eischet, The Black Mage, Sauren, so many others whose names I can't remember right now. Good times were had by all. Starting to get emotional and I am not an emotional person.
