Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.

DDO went F2P a while back. they just announced that LOTRO will go F2P this fall.
i wonder if they'll make AC F2P or is it their cash cow to support the F2Ps?

I doubt AC's 500 players total is Turbine's cash cow.

well perhaps my use of the term "cash cow" was a bit too ambitious but when it's still running after all those years, must be now somewhat a tad profitable.

lol cash cow,AC1 sub amounts probly wouldn't even cover 1-2 servers of Lotro upkeep,cost and matience.I am sure ac1 will end up f2p also.Lotro still had a tons of subscribers and alot of servers they were in no means dire situation and they decided to make it f2p cannot imagine them not doin the same for ac1

I was just thinking today that I wouldn't mind seeing a F2P option for AC, and I won't be surprised to see it eventually. The question will be, would they be able to implement the pay-to-play options with code that old?
