nah.

the books and the series start with the same premises.

werewolves for instance.

but then diverge in actual content and storyline from there.

I've been watching this Dresden TV show for four minutes and I already can barely stomach it.

It wouldn't have killed them to keep it even moderately accurate. The characters don't even feel right.

Butcher said that if there's ever a movie he wants Hugh Laurie (House) to play Dresden.

you know why? one of the people who showed up to audition for susan got the murphy role. so instead of a short blonde with an attitude you got a taller dark haired gal. its just one of the many things they completely ****'d up with the tv series.

If you want a good laugh look up Butcher's Q&A from comic-con on Youtube. The most hilarious stereotype nerd you will ever hear gets up and cries about how much he hates Marsters' reading of the books.

From the nasally voice to the pretension to the ironic stupidity the guy is just too perfect.

I can understand why he didn't like Marsters.  He did a wonderful job on all non-dialog, and he did a good job on about half the dialog, but he did  an abysmal job on the other half.  At times he would read the dialog in a voice that is directly contrasting the description of the line in the book.   In his defense though, he was reading a book, probably after only a read through or two.

I think Hugh Laurie would make an awesome Dresden... Just the thought of it gives me happy goosebumps!

Scratch this. What I said is true for the first few books, but now that I've gotten through a large chunk of the series, Marsters has smoothed out and his readings are much, MUCH better. I guess he just needed practice...or he settled down a bit.
