Yeah I have a hard time getting into the NBA, I watch some games around playoff time but that is it. If the Lakers win it all again this year I might just give up watching NBA for good. I will do what I have done the past 5 season, root for Cleveland and then watch them lose. It was nice to see the Bucks we, I might be wrong but I think they have had a horrible team the past 4-5 seasons. I would also like to see the Thunder make it past the first round.

if the lakers take it all I don't think I could ever get into the NBA again, even if my cadavaliers were to take a few titles in a row

I loved the NBA in high school, but haven't really watched many games since the mid 90s. I was a big Hawks fan, but lost interest when they got rid of Dominique Wilkins. It is nice to see them fairly competitive again.

thinking I somehow get the feeling that most of the people on this board at one time loved the NBA, but something in the mid-late 90's turned most of us off.

I never have been much of a fan of the NBA. I have always watched a few games during the playoffs, but other than that I can not stand to watch an NBA game. The flow and overall atmosphere is just not what I like. Now college basketball is a different story, I can watch that all day long.

The end of Jordan's dominance didn't help. But then again I am a Bulls fan, so what would you expect. Then, as someone who lived in Sacramento for a long time, to watch them get screwed over in favor of the Lakers was a big disappointment too.

It seemed to me that around that time, the game largely moved from being a team game to a one-on-one game.
The typical scenario that started to bore me:
"Give Iverson the ball, his four teammates go to the far corner on the other side of the court, Iverson jukes his defender and scores."
"Give Kobe the ball, his four teammates go to the far corner on the other side of the court, Kobe jukes his defender and scores."

On the very rare occasion that I watched the NBA, I would watch the Spurs. Duncan, Robinson, Horry, Elliot, Avery Johnson. I enjoyed that much more than the Kobe Bryant show.

That is precisely why the pro game does not appeal to me. College can get that way sometimes, but for the most part you can see how it reflects being a team game. I think the NBA needs up the shot clock, or something. I can not put my finger on exactally what it is about the NBA game other than the fact it is all about one on one matchups that makes it unappealing to me. Football is starting to head that way too, I am a defensive guy and each year the NFL gets more offensive.

I think that one on one game thing gets blown out of proportion a little bit. Yes, the NBA is a star league, but even the most dominant player is only going to score 30% of his team's points, and no team without at least one big time complementary player is going to contend. In crunch time they go to their big stars, but I think that's actually an attribute. Most sports thrive on superstars, and much of the time that what separates a good NBA team from a great one are closers who put the team on their back. It's why MJ made the NBA must see TV, because he was the ultimate closer. It's why LeBron hasn't won quite yet, because he's not the best closer in the league despite being the best everything else. And it crosses all sports. It's why we revere quarterbacks so much. Because when a game is on the line, the ball is in their hands on every play. If there were two outs in the bottom of the ninth in game seven of the world series, would you rather see ARod step to the plate or Nick Swisher?

I dont mind the me attitude at crunch time. But what bothers me is the fact that hardly ever do you see four to five guys touch the ball on a trip down the court. In fact with some lineups it is the same two guys touching the ball every trip and the other three are just there. I would like to see an offense where everyone gets involved and touches the ball at some point on almost every half court trip.

could be the loosely played rules that the officials enforce...a lot of fouls, travels and other get thrown out in the NBA.

aye sad

still though lets consider:

1. To start the season the Bucks were predicted to be the worst team in the East

2. Even after their surprising season, their best player goes down 7 games before the playoffs start

3. They take a team who player for player is MUCH better than them, to game 7, including a 3-2 lead at one point

they still did good happy
