Subject: AC Client stopped working - VISTA 32 bit
Hi there

this error is being a pain in the *ss, predominantly when I want to run my tradebot overnight, I come back to find that 1 hour into sleeping the game has crashed, this also happens when running both Vtank and LTX

Has this to do with a corrupt .dll file or something similar?

any help would be appreciated,

thanks.

my guess is that you're running with an on-board video card. However, that is just a guess, since you didn't post an export for us to look at.

You are using acdc as the launcher but you have the acdc filter disabled. What happens if you enable that?

I have this same problem. It's sporadic though. Sometimes i'll run a few hours and sometimes i'll go a full day. I've just learned to live with it as I didn't really think there was a way to fix it.

I am using an onboard video card though. What would this have to do with the problem?

Ball i wouldn't say your problem is the same and it would be better if you started your own thread.

but... first off I see your running sp1 which means you haven't run windows update. That opens up your system to known exploits. Other than that it could be many things causing you to disconnect randomly. It could be your ISP is having issues or it could be something as simple as a virus/malware. Try running malwarebytes.org anti-malware even if you use something else. Its a good program and I find it catches a lot that other anti-viruses miss.

Also, you shouldn't have AC or any plugins installed under the program files directory if you are using Vista or Windows7. Turning off UAC sometimes helps on systems, but it is not a long term fix.

Nah, this isn't the same problem I posted about in a diff thread. When the macro is running, it will randomly crash and get the "acclient has experienced a problem and needs to close" message. Think this is the same thing the OP is talking about.

And im running Vista, im fully updated. For some reason, export doesn't show it as Vista.

The problem you are having may sound the same because you are getting disconnected, but to me they are completely different in reasons. Maybe because I have been repairing computers for many many years...

Your export shows service pack 1 is installed. Microsoft released service pack 2 ages ago which is why I am saying you system is not updated. Try going to update.microsoft.com and see if it lets you update.

Either which way you need to start your own thread instead of hijacking this one.

Wow Sal. If I thought it was a different problem I would start my own thread. This has nothing to do with me getting disconnected. I have a thread for that problem. The problem that the OP stated is the same thing that is happening to me. A crash. Not a disconnect. I know the difference. And im not trying to "hijack" this thread. I figured 2 sets of exports would help if the problem happened to be in it somewhere.

And im actually helping keep his problem at the top of the list, which is self serving, I admit, but does in no way hurt him. What hurts him is people assuming that others have no idea what they are talking about. I have been in the computer/electronics field since 1994, so im not a complete newb.

And oh yeah, I just updated windows 2 days ago, and there is nothing listed for a service pack 2 for Vista. Is there a service pack 2 update for Vista available?
