Here's a look at the new fellow management system in Virindi Tank 0.3.1.33:

http://www.virindi.net/junk/voting1.png

This system combines automatic recruit with fellowship voting (when enabled).

The idea here is to mitigate the effects of fellow leaders who choose to UCM with VTank (which is against the license agreement). Lately I have been getting a lot of complaints from people who could not get into fellows because of VTank's lack of automatic fellowing, and I decided to create a system like this with the attended players in mind.

With Fellow Management Voting, the attended players in a fellowship can vote to kick a player from the fellow or transfer fellow leadership to someone else, if the UCM players are harming their play experience. For a vote to pass, more than half of the players voting must vote for it (ties do not count). Players in the fellowship do not need to be running VTank to participate in votes; they just need to send a tell to the leader to vote. If the fellow leader is at the keyboard, he can abort any vote if desired, or simply vote along with everyone else.

Based on the generally cooperative nature of hunting on white servers, I do not anticipate too much abuse, but I am certainly open to any feedback.

If you are playing attended (as you should be) and wish to deal with leading the fellow yourself, you can uncheck "Auto Fellow Mgmt." which will disable both voting and automatic recruit.

NOTE: These fellow features require an update of the Decal XML files, so before running this be sure to open up Decal and click the 'update' button.

what about those small groups that love to get into a fellow, and the hijack leadership and start booting folks so they can re-fellow their friends.

I am hoping it won't be a huge issue. Personally I haven't seen a lot of that kind of behavior.

If people are worried about it, they could just transfer the fellowship to someone who is at the keyboard.

So if a UCMer doesn't want to be booted and is the fellow leader, they just have to turn voting off?

this looks good and seeing as your average 9 toon fellow in eo has at most 3 people not ucm I don't see this voting thing being an issue.

I see "managed" fellowships as nothing new. It's been happening for years. IMHO I believe this managed "voting" will have a bigger impact.

On the the other hand, new tools and methods can be a good thing. The up sides of this will be just as important as the down sides of it.

It will be interesting to watch this.

Again, thanks VI!

my wish would have been to have the VFellow as a seperate plugin that could be, or not, installed.

i run accounts on 4 different computers, and i am probably wrong, but it seems the thing i'm doing the most is TURNING the darn thing OFF. off doesn't seem (to me) to be a persistent setting.

Of course i could have turned it off for toon A on computer 1, but when i log into computer 2/3/4 with toon A of course it's back on.

It is a per-profile setting.

so if i have 10 or 15 profiles for one individual i have to turn it off for each - well that is time consuming.

NO, you fail to see the complexity of the issue.

10-15+ profiles PER toon, 9 toons PER account X account.

Hmm. Maybe I should make a tool that sets a setting in EVERY profile?

this fellow management is great, I like the vote leader command. I didn't know you could actually vote to kick people though.

As for new features to add to fellow management... You should definitely set it to automatically ignore fellow commands from Illumael and his other characters, lol. I don't know how many times I've had him join my fellow just to take leader and break the fellow up. I'm sure any other FFer would agree.
