Subject: acclient.exe error when I click on a decal plugin
I get an error report message and my client crashes sometimes when I click on decal plugins. Is this a normal issue? It happened with LTx so I switched to vTank, then after a couple days it started happening with vTank. And now it's happening with Alinco3. Does anyone know why this is? Also sometimes when this happens I try to log back in and it just yellow links me(only on the char it happened on) until I turn off decal...

Does nobody else have this problem? That's really weird that it's only me.

It takes me like 6 tries to log in while having decal turned on or it will just yellow link me over and over and over again.

Getting DirectX seemed to fix the not able to log in with decal on. But I still get the acclient.exe error occasionally when I click on plugins. I was doing fine for 5 minutes of clicking on and off plugins and then it DC'd me. I don't understand why it would be so random like this...

have you heard heard of posting a decal export in the off chance a knowledgeable person might spot something wrong?

The crash after clicking plugins may have to do with video memory. Not real sure though.

This sounds like it could be the issue. My computer is pretty old, I've been thinking this.

How do I exactly get that, agnari? Sorry I'm kind of ignorant when it comes to computers.

EDIT: And I red link on login again, it a few times of it working for this to happen, but it's happening again.

EDIT#2: It only red links on my main char too. Any other char can log in fine. Why is it so flaky? Does this make any sense to anyone?

open the decal window, click on the export button, cut and paste the information when it is finally printed to the message posting.

Random 'red link' conditions are usually caused by router/port issues.

Your crashing does sound like it could be due to a lack of video memory.

An export usually helps in the diagnosis of problems.

I've had router issues for the past 2 years, been trying to get AC working on a Netgear. I finally got a Linksys and now I'm fine without Decal on. I can log in fine, never DC'd unless Decal is turned on.

I only have 512mb RAM, so maybe that is an issue. Here is my export log:

Subject: acclient.exe error when I click on a decal plugin
The crashing when clicking plugins is def a video memory problem from looking at your export. If you reduce the number of plugins you have running it will help you out a bit. Decal/plugins are video memory hogs.

Edit: Your red linking problem could also be coming from a corrupted portal.dat file. I have found that after I crash while macroing, I have to recall out of a dungeon to some random location, log out and back in, get back to dungeon, log out inside the dungeon, then i'm ok. If I don't do this, I continually red link after about 3-4 minutes of macroin EVERY time.

Also, try seeing if you can update your video drivers. Probably not going to be able to because of the age of the machine, but won't hurt to look.

Edit edit: Also, you could try running in 800 X 600 and see if it helps any. I used to macro a character on an older machine and had to do this to get it work.

Thank you, BC. It's weird, I didn't change anything at all and it stopped happening. I still DC on login from time to time but that's not a big deal.
