Subject: Decal and DirectX
I am trying to get Decal to run on a new computer. It's complaining that I dont have d3dx9_30.dll installed, but that's because my computer is running DirectX 11, not DirectX 9.

I then tried to get Decal to run on an older computer that I had recently flattened and rebuilt. It is running DirectX 9 but doesnt seem to have d3dx9_30.dll anywhere on the system so it fails there too.

Any suggestions?

Well, download and run the DirectX installer anyways; even with 11 installed it will install 9 too. As for Decal specifically, there is a download for a special file on the Decal website which is a developer file that is utilized by Decal apparently. You need that file from what I've read in other posts, so hopefully that will resolve your issue?

Leave it to MS to make sure that DirectX and .Net Framework are not backwards compatible. *sigh*
