You were close Juzam, had the Mizzou score right, just a little off on the KU score. You got a long ways to go if you are going to beat KU in lawerence next season. It is hard to believe that Missouri will shoot that poor in Columbia, should be a close game in the rematch. Rock Chalk Jayhawk, KU!

was a horrible game all around for Mizzou last night. If we were going to win we would need to dominate the turnovers (we did), shoot decent 45-50% (not even close), and stay close on rebounding (not even close). The way ku shot last night I don't think it would have mattered who they played, everything was falling. And of course since the game was at home, Aldrich got his usual 2 blocks plus 17 uncalled fouls from the refs.
The reason I say next year is the year (and I do believe that) is that this current team has only 3 seniors and 1 junior. There are 6 good sophomores who have now experienced allen twice. Of our freshmen, I only see 1/3 good players but he has now played there as well. If they qualify we have 2 very dynamic scoring threats coming in next year along with another two quite stable players. I think that the scoring threats of top 50 players added to the experience and athleticism that is growing up by fire this year they would be ready. Additionally, I believe that even though ku only has one senior (Collins), that they will be missing several key pieces from this team next year (Aldrich, Taylor, & Henry). Heck, even the Morris twins have said they might go pro but I don't see that happening.

To expand, as a ku fan, you would know that top 50 recruits are not typically intimidated playing against anyone. And the two recruits I am talking about have been talk of all the all star tournaments this past summer so they seem to meet that mold. Of course, I am using the star system as an approximation of talent as everyone knows that stars do not mean that a kid is going to be awesome, but just more of a way to guage potential.
Mizzou has not had a 5* or even 4* recruit in basketball so the stars of Anderson's teams are mostly 3* kids with the filler kids being ranked even lower. Anderson has said he likes the 3* type kids that work hard - but that (imo) is a lot of coachspeak too, as he would love to get superstar players as much as the next coach I would imagine. Next year he is getting two superstar kids, and the two other kids coming in are both 3*s and they should be as impactful as our best players are now. The two higher ranked kids just give an over the top. Added to the sophomore class we have I just see the next two years being really special.

We will see it will depend on who decides to declare for the draft. If it is just Collins and Aldrich look out. I can see Henry, and Taylor coming back next year, especially Taylor. He is not pro ready, Henry is hard to tell, but I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to stay around one more year. KU has top 100 recruits just sitting on the bench, and we will still have a good line up next year. Missouri might be at their best next year, but do not expect KU to be on a down year. From what I saw last night Missouri has a long ways to go befor they are ready to win in Lawerence. On the flip side that win last night makes it what 10 in a row now in Lawerence, so you guys are due to win one there sometime soon.

actually, I think last night was 11 in a row there...
and I wasn't really expecting ku to be down next year, I know how talented all the players there are, but from everything I know of Mizzou, they are not intimidated when playing against all star guards/forwards. They really seem to have problems with teams that have dominant big men - of course that can be said of most teams... You could see last night how they were afraid to drive the lane in the first half and how the offense changed when Aldrich went to the bench.

Aldrich was a huge factor in that game last night, I will not lie. Don't forget we have a 7 foot freshmen who was in the top 50 of his recruiting class in Jeff Witney. When Aldrich leave I would expect him to fill those shoes, similar to Aldrich filling Kauns shoes a few year back.

Kentucky lost, looks like the number one ranking is up for grabs again. With KU playing against Kstate on the road it would not be unreasonable to think number two could lose too.
