While that atrocity that was Indy 4 wasn't largely Ford's fault, I'm curious where they're going to go with this if they do make an Indy 5 movie.

I just hope that Lucas loosens the reins a lot more this time around, and gives the filmmakers more leeway in making Indiana Jones fun to travel with again.

Otherwise we'll end up with another South Park episode "The China Probrem".

Indy 5 will be awesome. Its an odd numbered Indy movie. If they make Indy 6 it will be horrible.

That assumes that Indy 3 was good. It was entertaining, but not good. Which is funny because I would argue that Temple of Doom was good*, but not entertaining.

*Spielberg has his game at a high level in Temple of Doom. It's a precisely ticking clock, a well designed roller coaster ride (and not just the mine car sequence.) However it does not work as a followup to Raiders, the tone feels off, the movie weirdly dark, etc. The casual "racism" that is a remnant of the older serials it was inspired by aside, the movie is horribly misogynistic. If it was intentional, bravo for integrating it so well, but it makes it less fun. It's not just the character of Willie, who is night and day from Marion. It's down to the symbolic level. The evil goddess who makes people steal children and sacred "stones" (read: balls).

Indiana Jones the Geriatric Years

The only way I see this taking off is if they focus mostly on his son with him playing a smaller role like Connery did in 3.

I don't care for Lebouf either but we seem to be stuck with him.

I'm all for Indy waking up from the nightmare that was Indy4 and the film makers just pretending it never happened.
Let Shia go ruin some other franchise.

maybe they should just reboot the series with younger actors... no, wait, bad idea. that never works out well.

Hmm. I don't know how to decide about Shia LeB00f. I can't tell if it was the acting, or the "written character design" given by the story/screen writers.

I'd rather want to see Short Round (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Ke_Quan) again and have Shia be replaced by a different face, preferably a "no-name" actor who can shine by their unknown talent.

Sorry for mishaps with expressions.

Currently in the MMO unemployment line.
Can I get $15/month for not playing them?
