Subject: Very wierd thing keeps happening.......
Not sure if there is even a fix for this.

I can recall from a dungeon to go sell/recomp. When I recall back to the dung, I can go in, run back to the spot I was at, and set back up. Almost immediately after starting the macro, I red link and crash.

I have found that when I recall back to the dung, if I log off outside, then go inside and log off, then go back outside and log off one more time, I won't crash once I start my macro.

This happens no matter which macro program I am using (Vtank/Ltank/Skunkworks warbot). I have unloaded every program I have installed and tried running each completely alone. I have tried every combination. Nothing makes a difference.

Just curious if anyone else has ever run into this behavior?

Several things that I can think of can cause this.

1) A port issue with your pc and it causing you to red link, but usually this would happen more often than when you use a portal.
2) A decal plugin is trying to write to a file it does not have permission to, but since you did post a decal export I cannot tell. Do you have the same issue if decal is not loaded at all?
3) Your portals.dat file is corrupted. This is easily fixed by deleting the file and letting it redownload when you log in.

Post a decal export anytime you post to this forum. It helps solve your problem a lot easier.

Wasn't sure if an export would help in this particular case:

Decal does not show the operating system correctly, so I cannot tell what OS your running. I am guessing vista? If its vista or windows 7 you will probably need to move AC and decal, along with all plugins, out of the program files directory. Vista and win7 do not like writing to files under program files because they expect developers to put any files that need to be written to in the my documents folder. It will probably be a pain, but for long term stability I would suggest uninstall AC, decal, and all plugins and then reinstall them to something like c:\users\public\games.

If you do not want to do that the only other thing I can suggest is to try deleting the client_portal.dat file and letting it redownload when you log into AC.

EDIT: Does the same thing happen if you do not run decal?

Even with decal loaded, I don't red link until I start the macro. Gonna try the portal.dat file and see if that fixes it.

And yes, you are correct, i'm running Vista. But I had this problem on a different computer when I was running XP.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll give them a try and see what happens.

Redid the portal.dat file and that seems to have cleared it up atm.

Was wierd though. Deleted the file, and when I tried to log in and let it re-dl it, it gave me an error message. Had to run the installer and repair AC. But in the end it seems to be working.

Thanks for the input.
