I've grabbed a tray of fries out of the oven with a bare hand. Twice. silly

One time I managed to get it all the way out before realizing so I ended up being stuck and had to just keep holding on till I could put it down on top of the stove. (Tossing fries on the floor is criminal, so don't even suggest just letting go.)

I've got an inch long burn across my arm from the oven. Luckily it's not very bad but I managed to tear the scab off last night and it bled.

Few years ago I was baking this dessert, crumbly thing that the last ingredient to go on top was a brown sugar crumbly mix. Put that sucker in the oven...

after 30 minutes or so I wanted to see if the sugar mixture on top was actually melting some so I took my index finger and...

ok, that's even painful to think about again plain

I used to work in a printery on Web Offset Presses we used to have 500 degree dryers to dry the ink. However when the paper broke and you had to web up the press you had to stick your arm inside of it guide the paper along. Not to mention sometimes you also had to clean a grate at the back of a the dryer by going underneath the dryer and opening a door and take a glorified shop vac and vaccum the partially burned paper off the grate. I don't think I count the number of burns my arms and hands have gotten...

this is the type of a press I used to work. Little different setup

Seared some pork in a sautee pan, put on a cover, and threw it in the oven to finish.

I remembered that the oven was hot, so I used an oven mit, grabbed the pan handle and took it out of the oven.

Unfortunately, my brain hiccuped and didn't think to use the oven mit to grab the cover handle - instead, I lifted with my bare hand sad

I did something similar once.  Sauteed a pork loin and put the sautee pan in the oven.  Grabbed the pan's handle instead of grabbing an oven mit.  Just so happened I had a bowl of ice water on the counter (for an ice bath), so I stuck my hand in it and kept it in cold water for almost two hours (off and on).  My hand never blistered and didn't even hurt.  I even went bowling that night.
