 Subject: Asheron's Call Dual Client (cannot run two games at once)
Ok I downloaded ACDC and installed it. During the install i was given a prompt to install a .NET 1.1.2344 or something like that. so I googled the download for it and downloaded it. After that I reinstalled ACDC and it installed fined and the program launched just fine. So I copied my files and made a AC ToC\2 file, and all that. I then went in to my regular ToC folder and I set the acclient.exe to work for Windows XP(Service Pack 2). After this I went into the ToC\2 folder and set the Acclient.exe, aclauncher.exe and ACDC.exe all to WIndows XP service pack 2.

After I did all of the above things I launched my first copy of the game by my desktop shortcut then logged in and alt tabbed and launched ACDC and tried to launch account#2. it then tells me I cant launch two games at once. so i try launching both accounts through ACDC and still does not work. so does any one have any ideas?

I do not know where to start.. you made so many unneeded steps its insane.

1) When ACDC is being installed it copies those files for you unless you made an error somewhre or tell it not to. You need to let it do this step so it can modify the files as it needs.
2) You do not need to manually set anything in the ToD folder. ACDC does all of that for you during install. (I get the feeling you like to tinker a lot)
3) You must use the ACDC client to launch both copies of AC.
4) On the main page for dual client on the left hand side are links to everything required to run ACDC, including .Netframework. (I also get the feeling you break things alot tongue )


Uninstall ACDC and then delete the /2 folder in your ToD folder. Then start over and carefully read the steps ACDC walks you through during install.

OK well i already reinstalled the game and deleted the folder. when I try to reinstall it. it does not give me the option to copy all the folders and stuff it did before. its making me sad because i have a feeling i broke things when I followed the directions i was given by some one else =\


btw i use vista 64 idk if i already said that or not.

If you open up dual client there are several tabs at the top. One of them says path options. Click on that and then click on copy files. make sure it list the second path in the box.

Yes i installed it and it did not work so i reinstalled it and deleted the 2 file and then had the program recopy them during the install and it still does not work.

most likely a DUMB question, but

have you read and followed the instructions for installing Decal and/or plugins under Vista. I know somewhere here in the utilites board was a vista/ac-dc thread (i seem to recall, or could have turned into the dominate topic of one vista problems thread).

I'm having a similar problem.. only that i cant even get to log one client into the game. as soon as i fill the first squigly vial and get the "connected" statement. the second vial starts patching
this only happens when i try to use ACDC. eventually the patching times out, so there is no point in even trying to patch it. Its like the dual client patch havent been done at all.
i dont know exactly how this is done now, but i remember you had to download a patched client before. I guess that dualclient is doing that by going through the ACDCClient.exe.

anyway.. i cant make this work, i would really love some suggestions happy

You need to install ACDualClient, Decal, and Asheron's Call to somewhere OTHER than C:\Program Files (x86)\

I'd recommend making a folder called C:\Games\ and installing all the programs to there. That means you should then have 3 folders.

C:\Games\AC Dual Client\
C:\Games\Decal 3.0\
C:\Games\Turbine\Asheron's Call\

Hopefully then everything will work correctly. I'd suggest reading the other posts here dealing with Vista and/or 64-Bit.
