You have to have a server script to accept the data that it sends. Unfortunately, I don't know how it sends data, so I've never made a back end for it.

I'm not sure Arkayas (sp) ever finished that portion of the code.

Somewhere out there in the wild is a perl script called PhatLewt. It took the inventory and made it much more pretty in HTML. You even used to be able to extract the icons for the items from the portal.dat and add them in. It could combine a series of inventories into 1 document.

Sadly PhatLewt has now passed thru at least 3 sets of hands as a project, and is currently abandoned I believe. Older versions can still mark things as being cool or not, but it doesn't understand Epics or other newer oddities. And the program that used to extract the images from the portal.dat, does not seem to handle the new .dat files.

You might want to look at the save options in ImpInventory I think one of the newer ones was HTML format. You would have to load it onto the server yourself, but it moves you 1 step closer to what your looking for.

It would be awesome if someone was interested and could get permission (not sure the license its released under), and update it to handle the newer information. My favorite portion was it could tell you how "Uber" an item was based on controls you could set.

wubbie - inventories... they rock!

edited cause i spellz gud

but I want it NOW NOW NOW, oh wait sorry this isn't a Decal/memlocs thread wink

I would be interested in what your working on.
With 3 accounts, all but 2 toons are mules, I am always very interested in new inventory plugins.
I can't program to save my life, but I do sometimes have useful ideas.

Last thing I did was just ID things and cut and paste out of the chat window. Yea it would be way easier to do it automatically but I don't know of anyway with current plugins. Maybe ask the alinco dev to add an output to text?

fwiw, there is a cell.dat converter...that + a couple edits to the phatlewt scripts and you're good to go.

I'll leave the rest as an exercise to the reader. happy

Yew - not fair! happy No more hints?
It converts new style .dats to the old?
I'm very curious on a couple levels. 1 the icons are cool, but I've been wanting to examine a couple textures behind the flicker bug... extracting them is useful, replacement is my goal to try to narrow down the possibilities...
I have ideas, its execution that always trips me up...

I have found phatlewt and I am investigating it. I plan on making something with simple interface and easy to use. Wish me luck

I am not sure if this will work for most or not, but I have found a small work around.

Grab something like this autoftp'er. Use it to automatically ftp files from a directory to a website. Simply setup your Imp Inventory to save as a html file.

Unless you run your own server and then just save the files directly to it.
