I was sitting at work late tonight, as I was trying to make up time for having to take thursday off for travel and not having any PTO. BUT, I decided to skip out on the last few and try to make it up tommorrow. The reason was the lightning storm that was driving through Tucson. I was able to make it to by sisters house out in Sahuarita, and was able to grab a shot of this spider lightning coming out of the sky.
The purple is way sick.

At the time I was at work, you could have pointed and clicked anywhere and gotten any number of strikes. By the time I got off work and at my sisters place, the strikes were much farther off in the distance.
I got 3 half decent strikes, and 1 good one (this one), and they were all with 30 second time exposures in the region of activity.
point in an area, see what you get.
The purple is from changing the white balance to fluorescent.
Can't wait to try again and see some more awesomeness.

Simply Beautiful!
I took a few last week from a storm, but the storm was so far away its basically strikes over a town in the distance. The only interesting thing to me was, they were naturally red.
Yours is a gorgeous shot.
