So I just got this new laptop with vista, got all my decal and LT stuff figured out (I think) and I can get all the way up to the login screen with decal running. THen, I just get stuck on the entering world screen, and I never enter portal space. Without decal, I can log in. Here's an export.

Disable all plugins in decal agent and enter the game with one on only, then the next to find out if one of the pligins is causing it.

I have NO Knowledge about LTx or LT.
but my GUESS is that possibly it is using some .net 1 or 1.1 service pack code that you don't have installed.
AND no having 2 or 2.1+updates will not help the situation. programs built/using/compiled against a particular .net framework NEED that version of framework installed. upgrading from 1 to 2 won't help an old program built against 1 run. specially if you assume, well i've upgraded to 2 can remove 1 now.
which is why as you continue to run old programs, add new programs you will see computers with .net 1, 2, 3 and 3.5 installed.

Thanks agnari, but it looks like 2.0 is required to run LifeTank, and thats what I got. Any other ideas anyone??

Lifetank is written in VB6. It does not require .net.

I have a little bitof new information regarding this problem. So, if I'm patient enough, after about two minutes, I do finally enter portal space. I log it at my mansion, and I get far enough in so that I can see other characters, and see their chat, but my inventory is still loading, and my guy is just purple bubbles. After like thirty seconds of that, I lose connectivity and get booted. Any new ideas given this info??

Top of head questions
- directly connected to your internet or router?
- firewall?
Sometimes with my bizarre setup when I need to connect the laptop, I have to lower my desktops firewall's mode a little bit so the laptop can successfully connect. (it involves ICS and a wireless dongle its not pretty but it works)

Hmm,
Well I run through a wireless router. I was using Mcafee firewall but i disabled it and started using windows firewall, and that didnt change anything, i still get booted from server at the same time. I notice the more times i log in the further I get, but never past being purple. I don't have a desktop that I can change firewall settings on, so I dont think that would help. I've allowed all AC related programs thru the firewall and that doesn't do anything either. Still lost and lookin for ideas.

what kinda router u using??? I get the same portal space bullcrap without using LTX but im on a belkin router........I can chat, see everyone else talking, and everything but i never get outta portal space and dc after 40 seconds..........got all my firewalls disabled on both computers and i have to keep my laptop in the DMZ part of my router so that it will connect at all........

I had a problem similar to this right after the patch. I got stuck in world and just had a black screen where my character and enviroment should be. I kept getting disconnected also. All I did was keep trying to log in on different characters and then try again on my main guy. I did it a few times and it just ended up working.
I noticed I got the furthest into the world on one of my mules and then I tried again with my main and everything worked after that using LTX
