How many people can say they been through a volcano, earthquake and an avalanche in the same day?! Lol...here's my story from yesterday.

Me and the family decided to drive down to the Portage Glacier on Friday morning. The drive there was just amazing! The scenery was one of a kind and besides the fog the weather was good too!

When we finally got there it looked like they were hit hard with a blizzard. The snow banks were taller then my truck (they were at least 6ft tall) and the road was barely drivable. I managed to get into the visitor center and the guy that worked there told me that the roads were closed (wish they had signs) and to come back in the summer for a better experience at the glacier. So we were like ok, we'll just drive back to Anchorage and find something else to do for the day...

On the drive back to Anchorage we hit stand still traffic that was sitting there for miles. So we sat there and and a guy come walking down telling us that there was a 25ft avalanche and the roads would be closed for at least 3 hours. We ended up sitting there for 4 hours waiting and then when the road finally opened these were the pictures we got

You don't need to use the IMG code. Use the direct link to image code and the image button on the formatting bar of VN.
