I read on the board that Alinco is dead.... while it still works I would think that I should switch before long so I am trying Find-IT! Find-IT seems to be supported pretty well. If you have any other favorites you can post them also for me to try.

I do have one question about Find-IT! Alinco when it would post up text in chat window like, portals, creatures, monsters etc.... I could click on these in the chat window and run in that direction. I don't seen to have the same ability in Find-IT! or am I doing something wrong?

Works in FindIt! too, just not from chat window... u have to open the app and click on the Treasure, Monster or Other tab. If you enable Pop-up for what you're searching for, it will auto-open the right tab.

Any item on the landscape that you can select as your target can be found by them.

I tried to put them on the mob tracker but it doesnt seem to work.

Please could you be more specific on what options to use on which plugin so they are detected ?

I haven't used FindIt in a long time. But I'm pretty sure I remember it being able to find stuff for me on the landscape. Maybe I'm wrong and it only finds mobs. Someone who is current with it will have to address that plugin for you.

In alinco, you have a panel for mobs and another one for "trophies". SIK chests go on the trophy list.

Yes you can set FindIt! to search for and notify you for SIK Chests, SSK Chests, etc.

There is also a Waypoint tab on FindIt! When you find a portal that you normally run to, you can select it and then add it to your waypoint tab.

Due to sheer laziness, I always used Mob Tracker because of its simplicity. Since being forced to use FindIt! for locating dye plants, I have completely abandoned Mob Tracker. FindIt! just simply kicks its arse in every way, and especially in the distance department. I mirrored them together for a few weeks, and FindIt! alerted me to a 'find' long before MT did, and sometimes MT never even threw an alert. MT was never designed as a treasure finder, only a monster locater, but after using it, you 'assume' that it should be able to find anything.. it can't. FindIt! can, and can also find the monsters, so why use two diff plugins? Spending the time to learn all the ways you can use FindIt! is time well spent!!

The bad part of this is, I love MT's website for tracking Mobs in dungeons, and without MT enabled, I don't think that data is collected. It would be NICE if Ghouru could give FindIt! the ability to upload stats to MT's collector resources....

hmm... dilemmas...
