I watched this guy on the food channel eat a partially developed duck embryo. They're a delacy in Hanoi.

I'm still revolted just thinking about it.

I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to food so I'd give them a whirl.

i'll try anything once .... and if i like, i will try it again

oddest food i have ever had was when i lived in Africa

every year there would be litteraly swarms of flying termites ... locals were telling us how they were good to eat etc.

so we set a bucket underneath our outside light ... collected a bunch of them that fell in the water .... got the locals to show us what's up

conclusion: deep fried termites taste like burnt popcorn

I'll put it this way--if it's good, I'll try it. But I won't eat something disgusting just to say I have. And I do have certain standards. It needs to be a properly raised & butchered animal. Not like Anthony Bourdain having a live cobra's heart cut out and swallowed. Nor reports of Kim Jung Il eating sushi carved from a fish that's still alive.

seems disgusting to eat food off a naked stranger. no matter how attractive they may be...just gross. all those body excretions and sweat and oil mixed in with your food...especially raw food with no heat to kill those germs. i feel sick just thinking about it.

I've had some strange stuff, too, over the years.

I've had turtle soup, hare, squirrel, rattlesnake, gator tail, emu, and buffalo (not really so strange these days).

I'm not averse to trying new stuff, but I won't eat something just for the gross-out factor.

Yeah, hare = rabbit, but it was wild so it was a bit gamier than a farmed rabbit (grandfather used to raise rabbits to slaughter - he was a butcher by trade).

Emu is a lean red meat, kinda like venison, but not as gamey since they're farm-raised.

Frog legs only count as strange if you're not French. tongue

i've never had farm raised rabbit ...

if wild = hare then those are good in a mushroom creme gravy

only a couple miles from Louisiana ... frog legs are common here

other odd meat i have had

Moose = 2nd greatest meat ever ... seriously good

Reindeer = good - also very lean

Black Bear = greatest meat ever ... especially after the first snow and they have been grazing on berries

Grizzly Bear = tough and rubbery ... if they have been grazing on trash, they taste like trash ... even after the first snowfall
