I started writing a loot editor for ingame (and haven't finished yet), but then I decided to fix a bunch of bugs. I figured I may as well release an interim version now for all of you who are annoyed with bugs...

As usual, please let me know of any problems.

Features:
- The beginnings of a friendly ingame loot profile editor made it into this version. Only 'names' currently works. Loot profiles can still be edited with the external editor (and always will be).
- Item buffs cast by the macro are now tracked according to your character's age when you logout. This means that if the macro buffed your items when you were previously logged in, it will not have to rebuff them again until they are actually needed.

Fixes:
- Macro will now change targets faster if someone else kills what you are trying to attack with a spell
- Changed vtank's code so the game should no longer crash when using a vendor, though this is only a workaround for a bug in decal
- After choosing a new target in melee/missile mode, the macro will begin attacking sooner
- Melee/missile mode attacking should be a bit smoother now
- The spam telling you you do not know a buff spell will now only be displayed once per spell per time the macro is turned on
- Fixed the crash on AC exit
- Fixed a cause of "Error: The given key was not present in the dictionary."
- Fixed vuln behavior when DebuffEachFirst is All or Priority

in v...19 i couldn't get the ring spell to fire.

monster distance at 15, ring distance set at 10 and number of monsters at 2 (just to ensure that it would fire, becuase teh 5 or 6 i had it set at was too rare to fire for testing).

I 'thought' i remembered a variable/option to use/not-use rings but i can't see it on the /vt opt list nor with the advanced display.

so what bone headed stupid thing am i doing wrong?

Check the 'R' box in monsters grin

You probably don't want ring distance over 5...it will cast rings when stuff is not in range if you do.

I'm having far worse problems now with Vtank than before the latest patch and update to v.0.3.0.20. It was working so great last month.

As an archer, melee or mage, the time between attacking monsters is several seconds, instead of the near instant switching last month with v.0.3.0.19. After 45 minutes, the macro stops attacking, my graphics get stuttery and I eventually crash out of AC altogether. This happens on XP and Vista on a range of systems from P4s to macbooks running bootcamp. I'm not sure what else to submit to you to help you troubleshoot. Please let me know what else I can provide.

I'd love to help reach a solution. This plugin and loot profiling was fantastic and I'd hate to go back to that 'other' option.

Wow. Hrm.

That is strange indeed. This is after a lot of time hunting? I will have to try hunting for an extended period of time as a melee...I admit, I haven't done this because I don't really have a melee character that I use for more than a few minutes of testing.

Thanks happy I'm at a loss for why things are acting up. Maybe I'm having a conflict with another plugin. I'll try messing around with it more tomorrow. 19 is working better for me right now, but I'll try and troubleshoot it more thoroughly tomorrow.

there were times with .19 as a mage i wanted to pull my hair out.

know that critter X is next and i've set monster type in list to use flame Rend wand for fire. so i switch to that wand and advance to attack.

gets in range, then proceeds to swith to wand W, back to flame rend, to W, to flame rend, to W to flame rend then attack.

WAS annoying. lucky most of these incidents were against monster nearly impossible to die against. Only thing i could figure it was switching for some new attack for an apporaching monster.


Haven't as yet seen it happen in .20; but then not really 'tested' .20 yet

I'm having simlar problems on mages archers and melees. Generally, it takes about 30 min for the computer to start to glitch kind of like a hiccup in the video. Then it starts to slow to a crawl then crashes with the ac client error or a network frame error. I thought it was something to do with the other plugins I use but it turns out it still happens with just virindi tank running...the newest version v.0.3.0.20. This is on two separate computers one with 8 Gigs of RAM and an nvidia 9600GT and the other with 4 Gigs of RAM and an nvidia 8600GTS. So??? I turned off Virindi Tank and turned on all the other plugins and it works normally....I love virindi tank when it works for those 20 min or so though happy

Ok, I did a fresh install of vista sp 1, AC, decal and .20 of Vtank to see if it helped.

I'm playing my archer today, and am still getting the problem. At first, I thought it was because I started and stopped the macro to change my items and gems/food. I started getting the lag in attacking after 10 minutes or so. I restarted decal and AC to try some other things.

On this second try, I already had my gems/food and items listed, so I just hit go. I'm getting a fast target switch but it takes several seconds to attack after only a few minutes of running the macro. Eventually, the screen stutters and AC crashes, so I restarted AC and decal again to do another test.

On the third try, I turned off looting thinking that this might be the common denominator. Maybe I created a loot profile setting that was causing a problem. Unfortunately, after only a few olthoi, I started getting the attack delay.

When running the macro, here is what I perceive when targeting takes place. Enter combat mode, select target ( I see the little gold arrow bounding box around the target), then this gold arrow bounding box disappears, then it reappears again and the attack begins. What's especially strange is that this cycle isn't consistent every time. Sometimes it's nearly immediate, then it gets slow like we've described above, then sometimes it will switch quickly again. I don't know, is there something in the way targets are selected that may be causing a problem?

Well, I tried targeting by angle and by range and it didn't seem to make a difference.

Let me know if there's some other kind of testing I can do to help out.

After several minutes with .21a and a hoarde of olthoi, I can tell you that whatever you changed seems to be working very well! Target switching and attack initiation are back to being nearly instant again! I've got full looting on and other plug-ins active as well. Looting seems twice as fast as before too.

yes if the toon is capable of casting them, i've heard rumors there is a figure buried somewhere that determines what the buffed skill level is to use 8's instead of 7's but only VI knows hwere it is and how to change it if you want to force your toon to try at a lower skill level.

I didn't read the last few posts very well, tho my last reply IS still accurate. I notice that 0.3.0.21 has a number different settings available in the Advanced settings including the afore mentioned SpellDiffExcessThreshold-Buff and SpellDiffExcessThreshold-Hunt setting. Which actually appears to be somethign I wanted to find and change, amazing what happens when you read the doc's ( I was wanting a setting to keep VTank from trying to use level 8's to heal since I still fizzle them often enough for it to get me killed).

DOwnloaded the new version, so far the errors I was getting earlier are gone. Yes I even got it to do some looting for me... A way to ignore salvage below a certain grade, or a way to show majors still would be nice. But i have started recieving another error. And I have one question.

Question first,
I run tings so it can ID majors for me, but when I run it with vtank about every 30 seconds I get ting msgs scrolling through my chat window as I am guessing vtank is identifing my worn armor and checking to see if I nee to add mana to it. Anyway other than disabling that option on vtank to get it to filter or squelch itself?

Problem is as follows. Was out hunting around Ft Teth and got this error msg:

Wow, that looks really strange actually. I'm going to have to spend more time looking into that one. You sure you are running .22 final? From my website's plugins page, not from this board?

And yes, you are right about IDing stuff to check mana. VTank also IDs your weapons, wands and shields to determine special properties. It has to do that to know what rend/cleaving things are, and if they are unenchantable. Does Tings have an option to turn off spam on ID? I know Alinco does...

Okay, I replaced the original 0.3.0.22 with a new one, 0.3.0.23, with a fix to that problem. Redownload and reinstall and you should be okay, now.

Thanks for the fix will DL it and go out hunting again.

Unfortunately tings does not hame a filter, might have to try a diff plug in. Does alinco ID majors for you?

Seem to be having a issue with using titan charges; armor pieces keep losing all their mana.

Also.. is there some information or readme file to assist in the setup of looting for salvage, etc.

Add titan charges to your food/gems list if you want it to use them?

Hey VI!

Hope this note finds you well.

Wanted to let you know about a few issues I've noticed with extended hunting with .23

- MOB corpses last forever. I don't know if any others have noticed this, but on both of my machines (one is XP, the other Vista), hunting mages, archers and UAs, since upgrading from .20 to .23, the corpses of my kills seem to "last longer" (ie, pile up, decay slower, etc, etc). This is 100% repro.

- Double fletching. My archers sometimes end up with an extra 250 arrows in inventory (in addition to the equipped ones). I have no recipe to make this repro, just happens.

- "Excessive mana charge use". On two separate occasions (on a UA on my Vista machine), I've blown through a dozen Massive mana stones in ~30 minutes. I have no recipe for this either (sorry).

And of course, I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't make a few requests for your consideration happy

- "Don't buff self buffing itesm if I can activate them". Big request, and you'll have to decide if it's worth the effort. But, for example, my 210 UA has all his 7s and fights EO with his Paradox Olthoi Katar. This quest Katar has full lvl 7 buffs (which my UA toon can activate), yet I spend time to buff it anyway.

- Use mana stones. It would be great if you could replicate LTX's ability to loot (player definable) "high mana" items (that wouldn't be looted based on any other rule) to sacrifice to mana stones, which in turn could be used to recharge wielded/worn items.

- "Define order/when to use items that have the same benefit, especially if one has a skill check". An example would be if I add both healing kits and wafers to my items list. Ideally, I would use my healing kits until out and then wafers (or even more ideally, use wafers if I was likely to fail to heal). Same for mana charges; use the little guys before the massives that double as my DIs. This may be my error, but I can't find a way to influece vtank's selection (other than not add eg the wafers); things in the Items list get reordered 'alpha descending', so I don't think that's it.

ah... now I see that it does learn unknown spells. However, characters of any skill level (trained or not) can learn level 7's, and it doesn't seem to take that into account.

she announced .20 but then had some melee/archer targetting issues improved upon and ended up with v.23. thus the disparity between version release annoucement and latest available on website.

any chance on mages that we can get a push stam to health when in bad damage situations. On DI it is very easy to get into a situation where you do 2 or 3 successive heals then as you take more damage while healing it will do another heal (of course i probably don't fully understand how to set the heal pointer and top off).

it's hard to turn OFF, push stam and turn back on and just pounding the stam to mana hotkey only means that eventually you may get the spell into the que stack but then after it's been pushed, the program still does another heal.

Does stam2health result in a higher rate of healing over time, even when you take into account the fact that you have to restam?

I.e., does s2h+revit give you more health than TWO heal selfs? (Or if you have a ton of endurance, perhaps s2h+revit+revit vs. heal heal heal)

i usually only need a s2h, revit. unless I've also done a push s2m, then after a s2h, revit, revit MAY be necessary.

so yes i find s2h, revit better overall then heal*3. especially if a revit really isn't immediately needed directly after.

the biggest trouble is doing the heal*3 means monster(s) get to do a lot of unanswered damage unchecked by needing to heal or whatever.

AS a mage I don't even have heal self on my spell tabs, just heal others.

VI, I like to use LTx when I hunt because it will display on ID of a weapon if the stats are what percentage of the max. So for example if I find a sword, for that wield it might say like (90%/100%) or something along those line. I would like to no use it for that function but can't seem to find another plugin that does it. Does vtank do that for loot?

if you are using a plugin to ident stuff to keep: majors/epics, salvage, weapons, ect. Once you establish a minimum threshold of a weapon to pick up say a sword no worse the 32-55 which might be a XX/YY of the max. why would you need to see it ident anything that is less the xx. and if it xx or better do you care to see right now that it is xx+3%. it is after all xx or better so your plugin said you wanted it.

Guess I am just too lazy to set up all my weapons/armors in the loot profile. I also keep allot of junk and love to loot bodies. Guess it is just a personal thing. Maybe Ill try to add them to alinco in loot tab or VT and use it that way. But I like to see that pop up saying want it is...

yeah can understand personal prefences and 'well i'm use to doing it this way'. No harm in asking V-I to do a change IF it isnt a huge time consuming thing, thus taking her attention away from more pressing things.

Is there a way to turn off usting?...I've been using Allinco to set up the looting and salvaging and after it does the Allinco usting, it does it again according to it's bags settings. Which always messes up my bags, I seperate by different values.

You could just use Alinco to loot...VTank doesn't combine if looting is off. (At least, that's true IIRC, it's been awhile since I wrote that part)

But Alinco doesn't open corpses...lol...where VT does. Makes it easier to have one know what corpses are not opened yet and go to the next one.

V-I something went really bad, then i leaped into the handbasket and then went at post-warp speeds to h...

logged in and was attempting to change profile from DI to col. which is way up the list of profiles, clicked to scroll up arrow and message box closed. tried this several times couldn't scroll up or down and attempting to do so only closed the whole VT window box.

being totally peeved and in a rush brought up add/remove programs to remove the new stuff and only item listed was Vtank none of that new stuff. so i looked at the sub directories for a remove and didn't see one (wasn't there or i MISSSED it) for the stuff added by the beta test msi. so i nuc'ed the sub folders and nuc'ed all but v-t's registery keys.

started up ac tried to log in and kept failing, acclient was failing for some reason (post stree process maybe a reboot at that point may have helped). shut down decal and could get in. i then removed decal and every plugin and reinstalled going back to VT 3.0.23 and not the prerelease 3.0.25.

so back to vt 23 and all seems to be working again.




AND, when i registered on the website during the install there was some comment about xxx messages in yyy folders but the topic index listed nothing in the way of messages/threads/folders.

thus i had no clue as to where to dump the above info except here.
