I'm grilling veggies for dinner. Usually cabbage and onion on a George Foreman type grill.
I'm looking for things that don't have a lot of fat to minimise calories. I don't mind adding
a little fat though, doesn't have to be zero.

I've mixed em with picante sauce, that's not bad.

I've made an oriental sauce with oyster sauce, chicken broth, and some potato starch.

Got any other ideas?

I like lemon pepper or seasoning salt. Pleasoning is pretty good too. http://pleasoning.com/

A little dribble of vinegar or some mustard would be good with that combo. Try a bunch of different spices and herbs. They are always good and have no fat.

A little fat is actually highly desirable when eating veggies, especially green ones (like cabbage?) some of the vitamins in said vegetables are only fat-soluble, and will only be processed if ingested with some kind of fat (your body won't pull from your own fat stores to process those vitamins, it'll just pass them on through and you won't get the benefit!)

Not sure how well olive oil would work on one of those grills, but that might work. I also like Smart Balance butter spread- half the calories of butter, no trans fats, the good omega-3 stuff. It's non-dairy and vegan, and I was *extremely* cautious about using it (in general I hate substitutes and never did care for margarine) but I love this stuff. I've even snuck it into my husband's foods and he's never noticed a difference, and he's always one to immediately notice when something is "lite" lol.

I'll throw my hat in the ring for Smart Balance, as well. It's what I use unless I'm baking.

Little bit of Smart Balance with some lemon peel, sea salt, fresh-ground black pepper, maybe some cayenne or crushed red pepper. Could also sautee some crushed garlic in Smart Balance and serve that over the veggies. It would take less than a tablespoon so not really that many more calories.

Also, anything mustard-based won't have much fat or calories. Try a homemade honey mustard.

It's a soy product seasoned with bacon and hickory smoke flavorings. You're much better off frying up a few pieces of bacon yourself.

Sometimes I give vegetables a very light spritz of Pam or some other spray coating and then sprinkle various spices on them. I love rosemary and garlic powder. Or, depending on what I'm eating with it, sometimes I'll give it the same spices I used in the main dish.

If you don't use spray coatings, some regular olive oil in a spray container works well, too.
