I didnt make Thanksgiving dinner this year, just the desert, I'd love to have a big Christmas dinner, but everything I can come up with, we just had! LOL

Are there traditional differences? What do you all do?

Our T'giving revolves around turkey & dressing & giblet gravy. X-mas has prime rib roast & yorkshire pudding & au jus.

I do a ham for Christmas dinner, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, a vegetable.....whatever the majority wants....rolls, and dessert. This year an going to try caramel pecan, sweet potato, and apple pies and I'll keep coffee brewing all day for guests that pop in.

Thanksgiving is a traditional turkey dinner where one person makes the bulk of the meal and everyone else just brings desserts and appetizers.

Christmas dinner is one giant potluck where we never know what we will have.

We also do Prime rib at christmas and the traditional Turkey etc on Turkey day.

At christmas we seem to have more cakes and cookies for dessert versus pies.

Thanksgiving is turkey, etc.

Christmas is ALWAYS homemade ravioli and usually a beef fillet with the appropriate side dishes.

I am leaning toward Ham and Cornish Hens (was going to do geese but the thing is $55.00 and never done it before). We try to do something different for Christmas than Thanksgiving.

For most years, Thanksgiving and Christmas involve about 50 aunts/uncles/cousions. We have 2 turkeys and all the fixings for Thanksgiving plus another type of meat. For Christmas we have have a huge ham plus 1-2 other meats. Everyone brings a dish and one aunt helps coordinate what people are bringing so we have a good variety or meat, veggies and dessert.

I might volunteer to make au gratin potatoes this year. I love au gratin potatoes especially with ham.

Thanksgiving is always turkey and ham with a ton of side dishes (mac and cheese, collard greens, lima beans and rice, hoppin' john, deviled eggs, broccoli and cauliflower salad, etc., etc. and I never have to cook. We go to my sister's house in South Carolina.

Christmas dinner is whatever unusual my mother in law and I figure out - sometimes a fresh hen deep fried, sometimes lasagna but always something different from Thanksgiving. I always help prepare Christmas dinner in some fashion and for both Thanksgiving and Christmas, I'm in charge of making all the pumpkin pies tongue
