This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.

First off I just want to say thank you to all of you who participated. It made this contest very fun and hopefully we will be able to continue doing more than just the standard "coloring contests" in the future 
There really were a lot of great submissions!
Before I show the answers and announce the winners just want to break down how the winners were determined. It did stray a little from the original plan since we extended the time on the contest.
Obviously the first determining factor was the amount of correct guesses and then in case of a tie it was whom ever submitted first.
And now for the answers:
Clue/Icon #1- I took a visit to a strange place, hoping to find something new and exciting. What I left with was an utter disappointment, not even as good as a stupid t-shirt.
Clue/Icon #2-What is made here is not there, but maybe found somewhere on VN.
Clue/Icon #3-Don't like doing windows? Well then you better find one of these!
(Clue/Icon #3 part 2) I'm in your monitorz licking your screenz.
Clue/Icon #4-The golden night is in a state of sunshine. It's always a sporting time
Clue/Icon #5-You maybe seeking refuge from the elements when you choose to find me. However to pass through me you must read and speak in a foreign tongue, but do so with caution for I am guarded by one which lies beneath the night sky's reflection.
Clue/Icon #6-I'm super dark and full of teen angst. I'm normally found soaring like a bird in the clouds but I'm actually stuck hopping on the ground.
Clue/Icon #7-I can be found enjoying my heavy metal 24/7. I'm really quite the head banger, especially while devouring my mate.
Clue/Icon #8- I don't know Who he is, but she may be a Piper
And now for our brilliant slueths Gratz all you did an amazing job!!
First place and winner of 1 month VIP and a title goes to :Smackey_the_Frog
Second place and winner of 2 weeks VIP and title goes to: Metal_Dog
But wait there's more since we had so many great entries we decided to bestow a 3rd place prize !!!

I was totally stumped. What the heck is a Gate of Moria?

Gate of Moria is from LOTR, it's that door Gandalf and friends escape into after the mountain path gets blocked, only opens to elven words and has a swamp creature near it.

I wouldn't have got a single one of them correct - believe it or not. I had seen only two of those icons before, the gromnie and Briton's icon.

My #3 was the licking cat GIF too!
My #5 answer was interesting! Foreign tongue, night's sky reflection? I picked Vincent van Gogh. One of his more famous paintings is called Starry Night.
I read LoTR when I was like 9 and haven't seen the movies yet.. oh well, I had fun.
