I am north of the border and did not venture south...but I heard about that poor man at the Walmart and the two guys at the Toys R Us that killed eachother.
Gives new meaning to Black Friday...no deal is good enough imo.

After all the deaths yesterday, I think Black Friday is going to have a new meaning. sad

I've never gone out that day. I'm not into crowds, expecially ones where people are so frantic to save a couple bucks.

My life is worth more than that happy

My patience is worth more than that.

BF isn't really a thing here in Canada anyway.

Boxing day is just as bad as BF.

People dieing trampled like that is unfortunately not a new thing.

I went out after 6pm. Didn't catch the mega deals but caught a nice deal at Kohls. When I got married we bought 30$ bands until we could afford the rings we wanted. Well I got the ring set I wanted, 60% off. Also for every 50$ spent we got 10$ coupon to spend in the net week. I have to spend 130$ next week. Oh darn!!! I spent a lot there cause the deals were great and I needed maternity clothing and some stuff for my holiday party.

Also at the military store they had 25% off Coach bags between 6pm and 7pm....O M G I regretted going between those hours...people buying like 5 purses...those are like 100 to 500$ purses...I dont get it.

I've gone out the last two years. One of my favorite clothes stores, Aeropostle, has 50% off the entire store.

I got a Kenneth Cole watch for $35 (originally $95), and a KC down-vest for $30. Also got Kung Fu Panda and Iron Man for $13.

Black Friday is the day after thanksgiving in the US. It's called that because it's the 'first' official shopping day of the Christmas season, and the day most retailers finally make it 'into the black' aka - turn a profit for the year.

My mother-in-law, daughter and I went out but it was AFTER the big rush. I'm not crazy enough to go out early.

I did notice something interesting, though. Some stores in Michigan offer the BEST deals AFTER noon on Black Friday. I don't know if it was just that area or if some stores do that nationwide. I thought it was a good idea to get people into the store later in the day rather than at 4am.

My daughter and her family went out Friday morning. One thing she noticed was, the items that were the best buys, weren't anything she'd consider buying. To her, it all seemed like sub-par merchandise to just lure you to their stores.

<shrug> I'm real happy buying online happy

Online retailers have black friday sales too! I was contemplating buying a Sony Blu Ray player...it was $50 off at Best Buy, $120 off at Sears, and $80 off at amazon.com! I didn't end up buying it at all though...I didn't want to get up omg early to get it in person and I don't like buying electronics online if I can help it, with a few exceptions.

I actually did go out this year though. My very first time going shopping on a Black Friday. I wouldn't have gone out though if it wasn't for the fact that I ran out of diapers! Went to Target around 10am, and it was pretty darn empty. I did pick up a couple other things but no great sales, but then I wasn't looking either!
