Subject: Decal keeps crashing me every 4 hours or so, help!
So I asked on my main boards about this problem and they finally sent me here.. First we thought it was a RAM problem, but I have 4 gigs of ram.. I'm running Windows Xp Pro and have over 200 gigs of Hard Drive space.. I run Nvidia Graphics and have a 256 Meg Video Card.. I have no Anti-Virus running.. My windows Firewall is off..

Still my decal crashes me every 4-6 hours and it's getting very annoying.. Anyone have any ideas?

Also here's my export report...

Welcome to the world of LifeTank.

AC has had memory leak issues for a long time. This gets compounded by Decal and the various plugins that are running. LifeTank has always been a pretty big hog when it comes to that and eventually the AC subsystems just can't handle it anymore. And we aren't talking specifically RAM either. We're talking Video Memory as well which gets eaten up by the plugins and their various interfaces.

Not much you can really do but try to minimize the usage of offending plugins or restart AC every 4 hours.

Yes i'm aware of that but it's kinda weird when someone with less Memory can run for almost 40 hours straight on Two clients without crashing and you can only run for 4 with one...

~Pyrocy~

So, if somebody else running Decal can go almost 40 hours with two clients, and you can only go four, you figure that points to it being a problem with Decal?

Considering it's always Decal that Crashes then yes I do.. I have posted this on my main boards and first they said it might be my processor overheating.. Ok I went and bought a fan.. Still crashes.. Some say RAM, but I have 4 Gigs and my friend has 2... My friend says it's probably my processor in general (AMD Turion64x2) he says AMD isn't the greatest and is known to not be best fit, but someone on our boards says he has no trouble with his AMD processor and macroing for extended times..

So what is left to point to?

Try turning your graphics detail down mine does the same thing but I notice it can run longer if my graphics are not way up.

You appear to be running the 'portal' version of Alinco. Try turning that off.

Be sure to turn off the Alinco filter also.

I see you have BOTH Alinco and Lifetank ON at the same time.

Without getting a proper description of what you mean by "crashing every 4 hours", I CAN tell you,
that running those 2 plug-ins togeather WILL get you booted from the game RANDOMLY for CoC becuase of so many assesments of objects.

I'm not real in the know about AMD processors, but does AMD Turion support heavy loads well? I mean compared to a desktop AMD processor like the AM2 and up? I know Semprons for example cannot handle gaming. They are more for word processing and minor internet.

What does the other person that can run for 40+hours have?

Do you have anything else at all running on your system - IE: are you alt tabbed out? If you are myspacing while listening to music while surfing pron while writing the next great american novel while PMing while posting on message boards while doing your homework - ANNNNNND - you have a ton of useless garbage loaded into memory at the bottom right of your desktop, from quicktime to you name it messenger - all of this gobbles up resources. And lessens the time the memory leak takes to crash your client. If I am going to "A"CM for hours on end, I do NOTHING else with said computer - everything that can be unloaded/shut off/logged out - is.

Edit - scrolling up good - don't run ANY other plug-in at the same time a macro is running.
