Before anyone does this, you're strongly encouraged not to do it. The proper method would be to install Decal, Dual Client, and AC outside of Program Files (or directly give your user account write access to the install directories for the above) and leave UAC alone. It's more than just the "annoying box" that comes up, it also controls the IE sandbox among other security features. You risk a lot disabling it.

You have ACDualClient, with Injection enabled, but yet you have the Filter disabled?

What about in the options, are the Polling or Hooks enabled?

If you're not going to use all of ACDualClient or even use the Dual Logging feature, I'd recommend turning off Injection as it may cause problems.

Hi, I don't know how filtering is off or how to correct.

Polling and hooks are enabled.

Should I check in decal options enable other method?

My biggest problem the downloads of decal plugins won't install I just get a downloaded msi file that won't install (i.e. LifeTankXI-11-7-8.msi) because windows doesn't know which application to use to run the msi. I can't install windows installer 3.1 as I get out of memory error.

Sounds like you need to go hit Windows Update.

As for the ACDualClient stuff, checking the option in Decal should be the same as checking the option in ACDualClient. Just make sure the ACDC Core Filter is enabled for that to work.

But it sounds like you've got other issues you need to resolve first.

If your Windows is fully updated, then you should have no issues installing components. MSI files should already be properly assigned to the MSIExec installer and everything should work.

If you're having issues with the MSI files, but your Windows still says it is fully updated, then you might need to run something like Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware or Super Anti-Spyware on your PC and check if you have any infections as that behavior is not normal for a fully-updated Windows PC.

Hopefully you can get it all figured out. I know it works as there are many people who have gotten it to work. It's just a matter if figuring out why yours won't work, and fixing it.

I also have to agree with Kaltemar and say that disabling UAC is a bad idea. Besides the security implications Kaltemar points out, user account related files/settings for programs are installed to a different physical location with UAC turned on than they are with it turned off. This means that you can end up with a lot of goofy problems if you turn off UAC after running a system with it on. If you don't want UAC, I suggest starting with a clean install of Vista and then turning it off immediately upon first boot with the administrator account. Then create your main user account. If you do this, you should avoid any stability problems.

All that being said, I have yet to encounter a UAC related problem that can't be gotten around by right clicking a program or icon and choosing the run as administrator option. For decal, I have both decal and AC set to run as administrator and in XP sp2 compatibility mode.

no spy ware or male ware foun, I have a feeling one of the vista updates got corrupted but i don't have a vista disk only the HP reinstall disk which puts you to factory clean status and I've done that 10 times with vista already in the paste 3 monts and I had enough reinstalls
