Boards Archive] |
Welcome to the Vault Network
forum archive.
This is not a complete archive, time didn't allot us the
opportunity to properly backup the majority of the boards
deemed "expendable". Most boards on this list have at least
20-40 pages archived (non-logged in pages, 15 topics per
page).
Popular boards may have as many as 250 pages archived at 50
topics per page, while others deemed of historical
signifigance may be archived in their entirety.
We may not agree with how the board shutdown was managed, but
we've done what we could to preserve some of its history in
lieu of that.
Please enjoy the archive.

After killing my daughter's flowers and lettuce, we replanted and they are doing...ok. I think we need to water them more often but I keep forgetting. The carrots look good. We dug down beside one and there are baby carrots under there.

The cucumbers were GREAT, and are just about done. Big lemon-looking things the size of softballs. I gave a couple to my friend one street over and she got the biggest kick out of making people guess what it was. No one guessed right Best part- they taste just like your everyday garden variety cucumber, but they look SO much cooler!
I picked one of the watermelons today and put it in the fridge to chill. I think they're ready. We'll find out tomorrow!
The tomatoes are about done also. Been so hot that even they've been feeling it. The peppers are about done too.
The corn didn't do so well- the ears didn't fill out properly. They almost looked like they'd been eaten- the properly filled in nubs were just very random all throughout the ears. There are a few things that can cause that so I'll try to fix that next year. It was an experiment this year anyway so I'm still happy with what I got
Now I need to dig up my beds and get it ready for fall planting. Pumpkins especially need to go in soon if I want them to be ready for halloween. I have white pumpkins and I think navy blue pumpkins I can plant.

Haven't started prepping the new backyard yet. I am starting my compost pile this weekend though and should start making the beds in a month or two. Not a big deal though since I'm in San Diego... pretty much year round growth.
