Five-minute chocolate cake??

http://www.dizzy-dee.com/recipe/chocolate-cake-in-5-minutes&sid=72119265152

4 Tablespoons cake flour
4 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
1 Egg
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons oil

Mix flour, sugar and cocoa in a large mug.

Spoon in one egg.

Pour in milk and oil, and mix well.

Microwave 3 min on high.

Three glaring issues that I see here, and I'm no chef...

1. One entire egg?! For a cake that fits in a mug?! shock
2. THREE TABLESPOONS of oil?! For a cake that fits in a mug?!
3. Cake...in the microwave?! Will this even, I dunno, cook properly or something??

Y'all are the cooking experts here, ever tried anything like this? It sounds tempting to try with the kids, maybe with some whipped cream on top but I have to wonder whether this is going to seriously suck!

no different than those microwave cakes you buy at the grocery store; it will work proably won't taste like real baked chocolate cake but in a pinch the kids will love it

I've made cake in the microwave with a regular cake mix. I'm not sure about this recipe, though. It would be interesting to try but I never keep cake flour on hand.

In a pinch, I have made scrambled eggs in a mug, lol. I'm guessing it does the same thing here...

I basically take 2 eggs, whisk w/ some milk, and put in a mug. Microwave for about a minute or so and it really does blow up in mass.

I always thought cake in the microwave was kind of rubbery.

this

They aren't that bad for a real quick snack, but it's no substitute for the real thing.
