What kills them? If it's only a small part of the shrub do you think it will grow so the damage doesn't show If almost 1/3 of the shrub is already brown will the rest possible survive if I take care of the infestation this weekend? worried

I was not familar with this type of pest so Googled it I think we call them something else here in Oregon I did however find a good link to how to get rid of them (this was the best one of the 3-4 websites I looked through

http://www.ehow.com/how_9370_control-bagworms.html I liked it because the pesticide they said to use was kid/pet safe

I hope this helps!

We've only had them a couple of times. We just used garden shears to clip away the infected branches, and burned them. We also made sure to examine the ground closely for any worms that dropped, and were crawling around, and squished them.

Well, it looks like it's a neighborhood infestation. My husband got some spray and sprayed it all over the shrub and surrounding area. A large part of the front of the shrub is dead, though. I'm hoping we can trim it and it will start to fill in. I just wish I would have caught it a lot earlier.
