Subject: iPod problems
I've done numerous searches on the net and nothing has worked yet. Anyone else have this problem and find a fix:

I plug my iPod into my pc and nothing. iTunes doesn't recognize it nor does the computer. This used to happen months and months ago but I fixed it somehow..

Ideas?

the USB ports are ok, right? (just making sure)

I've had this problem with a high end flash drive(5 gig one when they first came out) and it was initially because the usb ports weren't putting out enough power for it to power up the device, so it might be the case for that. If not, you should probably take the iPod to an Apple store if you have one in closer prox. to you, and have them look at it. Good luck bud.

I tried a friends cable and it worked. Funny how a USB cable could just stop working like that.

Thanks for the reply.

yw! glad it was something simple, although strange. I don't hear of cables just going out to often!

Check the ends of yours and make sure none of the pins got bent or pushed down.

I had this problem. I had to disable the level of my USB reader on my motherboard settings to read the ipod. Yea those cables sometimes can be warped glad it was an easy fix for you,
