i recently came back from years ago. i want decal, but the only version i can find is alpha and costs 30 bucks. is there a free version that will work with vista?

you do not pay for Decal itself, but you have to pay 12.95 a month to use it....

LOL...no you don't pay for Decal nor do you pay a monthly fee for it. I think you are referring to the monthly subscription fee to play Asheron's Call which is $12.95.

IMHO ... $1 a month or $10 a year would be nice token gesture to the Decal developers....

The way I see it, Decal works fine now. I don't think it really needs further development. However, I might give Drakier something for continued memloc updates...

My work is minuscule in comparison to what everyone else has done and continues to do.

Decal is still being worked on (or was fairly recently). It may not "need" the update, but it doesn't mean that work isn't still being done on it. Just not as publicly really.

Also.. with the tools developed, memlocs are usually not too difficult anymore. Sure I had to put in many hours of time to create the tools, but once the tools were created, they do their job fairly well. That's the reason I created the tools honestly.

If my tools got into SweetMary's hands even she would be able to generate memlocs almost every month. *shrug*

The only problems with memlocs (where the skill is concerned) is when the client changes beyond what the tools are capable of detecting. Then we rely on our skills to be able to go in and "look" for them by hand. That is the only part that really takes any effort on a month-to-month basis (in terms of memlocs).
